If the citizens were able to carry guns and were able to protect themsleves many of these crimes would not happen. There are many European citizens who wish they never gave up their guns and think that the ones here in the U.S. who hold to their guns have it figured out more than their own government.

Explaining why crime is higher in areas with gun bans is easy. People get guns fairly easy in the other areas and seek the easiest spot to commit crimes, places were guns are banned. If those areas allowed guns, they'd only be exporting the problem to the next gun free zone, but it hardly lowers crime in general.
