Marginally better, perhaps (which is not saying much).

Biden's injecting trillions of deficit spending into an already hot economy after covid was over, leading to years of runaway inflation, puts Dems is a tough position to take the moral high ground here.

This is not "whataboutism" The bill sucks. Trump sucks. No dispute.

But Dems are almost equally dumb on this issue and much dumber on many other issues.

So, no, I'm not pining for a Kamala or Gavin in the WH.
There should be a goal of Republican budgets to reduce the deficit, not increase it. We’re increasing it by a lot here. It should be a total nonstarter from the standpoint of any principled conservative voter or politician. Why isn't it?

I know you're independent now, but when are the rest of the fiscal conservatives going to stop voting for this nonsense?

=== Agree

We’re increasing it by a lot here. It should be a total nonstarter from the standpoint of any principled conservative voter or politician. Why isn't it?

=== Two reasons. First, Trumpism isn't really conservatism anyway. There is no "conservative" major party in the US now. Most conservatives (as far as I can tell) don't like Trumpism, bit think it's at least better than the wild left positions of much of the Dem party today.

Second, politicians (on both sides) are naturally only worried about that's going to keep them in power. Temporary excess gluttony at the cost of future austerity is a bad theoretical idea, But it's very attractive to politicians who are only seeking to remain in power temporarily and don't have any incentive to care about what happens 20 years down the line.

I know you're independent now, but when are the rest of the fiscal conservatives going to stop voting for this nonsense?

=== When the Democratic party disavows and stops condoning identity politics and governs like Bill Clinton, that may be the tipping point.

Well Trump is doing everything in his power to scuttle that reality. Wait till the world dumps the US dollar as reserve currency and all your inflationary money printing roosters come home to roost.
Yeah, that is the problem.

Of course, the USA falling apart is bound to take the world economy down with it, so it's a problem for all of us, not us Americans.

Forget "conservatives" or even Republicans for a second.

Do you not get how sickened most of us are by the identity politics that have set the tone of this government from mid-2020 through at least 2023 or 2024?

Whenever I bring it up, reasonable Democrats like you rarely defend it. Rather, you just say it's not such a big deal and minimize it as being less important than other issues.

But you're missing the visceral anger caused by the wild "white cis straught guilt" and "privilege" and DEI crap we've all been bombarded by in the last few years.

If you can't pick up a mirror and realize that the Democratic party thoroughly alienated huge swaths of people with this identity crap and by mocking their beliefs as backward and antiquated, and thus threw an election to an obviously incompetent candidate for the sole reason that he stood up and said exactly what more than half the people in the country think about this, then you're not yet on the road to recovery.

The visceral anger is caused by the fact that black people and Mexicans still exist in this white world. How dare they.

"If you can't pick up a mirror and realize that the Democratic party thoroughly alienated huge swaths of people with this identity crap and by mocking their beliefs as backward and antiquated, and thus threw an election to an obviously incompetent candidate for the sole reason that he stood up and said exactly what more than half the people in the country think about this, then you're not yet on the road to recovery."

So white people got butthurt because the rest of the world is tired AF of the racism.

Too bad. If a white person's belief is that black people, gay people, trans people (pick your favorite people to crap on) can just suck it, that belief should be mocked. Such beliefs ARE "backward and antiquated".

Also, Trump was not elected by "more than half the people in the country". Less than half of all voters, and therefore, way less than half of America put Trump in the WH. You know, a minority. Trump lied when he promised everyone would be better off, but that's what those who voted for him voted for. Even the ones who weren't butthurt about DEI voted for him because he promised a better economy. That for sure didn't happen.

The reason this country is turning into hell right now is because Trump knows he can't be re-elected, and so he is finally letting everyone know exactly how he feels about them. He has no compunction against dumping on all of them, even his supporters. That he tried to dismantle FEMA right before hurricane season is only one example of that.

The ones who should be looking in the mirror are those who support his dismantling of America. By the midterms, America will finally be tired of this charlatan and his stupid MAGA supporters.

I asked Marauder if my wife and I can have 3 cars. He didn't answer, I'd hoped he'd say it would be OK, but he is smart and prob knew I would THEN ask, that I have 5 vacation homes and am thinking about getting another one in Jackson WY for my friends to stay in when they come visit.

Uh, your point? You don’t believe that some people, who work harder than others, take risks, might not be allowed to advance in status, for lack of a better word? What are you saying exactly? I never know what you people want, except for the stuff of others. Can I have 3 cars, though it is just my wife and me?
Y’all never can answer.
Trump says you can have a maximum of five pencils and three dolls.

Sue, this concept is in response to the obsession you kids have with rich successful people. A fair comment by me.
So, can people be allowed to be rich or not?

No one in this Trumpazoid administration is successful.

You can be rich all you want.

Just know you won't have an afterlife, you err from the faith and you will never be happy. Read 1 Timothy 6:9-10.

Stop punishing other people because you're not happy! You did it to yourself.

One of his days of being a bit exhausted, sort of mistated y'all should do a thread on how busy he is. Did he look a little sleepy? No, actually, he never sleeps!

Y'all are always scraping for ANYthing to bitch about . Certainly you don't want us to go back to Biden.

You can stand on principle all you like, but surely you must know that screaming at people that they're racists because they have different political opinions than do you is not a winning electoral strategy.

That would be dumb.

We scream at racists because they're racist.

Have you heard some of these hateful blowhards in here?
