So who cares about young people's mental health? Or better qualified teaching staff? After school tutoring? Obviously, Republicans! If Republicans are going to stay in power, they have figured out that stupid people vote for them--so it makes sense for them to cancel federal funding for schools, especially in rural areas, because that's their future voter base.

Same as Trump's response to COVID: the infection numbers looked bad, so Trump said stop testing--then the numbers won't look so bad. Americans won't know how stupid they've become, until it's too late to do anything about it.

This practice also extends to Trump supporters themselves. They're beaming with pride about how dumb they are. They attack Liberals calling them the "Educated Elite" as if knowledge is somehow evil, giving little thought to the fact that workers in our information age need to be better educated in order to compete successfully for jobs in the 21st century. The Trump folks want to take us back to the days of coal forges and hoop skirts.

America NEEDS federal standards in the education of our children. Otherwise we don't know if this state or that state is doing the ONE job they were given to do.
This is why we need a Cabinet-level Department of Education. Oversight, and more money to pay for needed programs. That's it. Why leave the education of our children to the lowest bidder? That's insane.
