I did not tell you or anybody what should be done about it.
I just told you there was a problem because there are a lot more irresponsible people (as you call them) than there used to be before the Iran war.

People are hurting financially because of inflation and more recently high fuel prices, which also causes inflation. The only reason they keep spending is because ...[text shortened]... e democrats will take control of congress. He is already positioning himself to blame the democrats.
“ the only reason they keep spending is because they still have credit”.
IF You could not afford to buy and pay for certain things, would you do it anyway if you have credit. Like if you cannot afford something, are you going to buy it. That is being irresponsible. If someone is irresponsible, they have nothing to do with you and me. They have plenty to be thinking about for sure. Like growing up and being responsible, and budgeting their lives. We are all in the same boat, but some seem to think it through better than others. You seem to be on the side of the ‘others”.
, Just because someone has a Wallet full of credit cards does not mean that they should be used, if the borrower knows she cannot repay them.
ANY financial advisor would advise them to tear up their credit cards. So would you,, so would I.

If I cannot afford fuel to go to work I should not buy it?
What about toilet paper? Should I go without? Food? Diapers?

I hope you become broke and homeless some day. I think it is the only way you can empathize with poor people. Some people get tendinitis and it takes months to heal. So you are out of work for over 3 months. You cannot just stop paying your bills. No electricity. No car insurance. Think about it.

I agree that people can fall on hard times through no fault of their own, and I don’t wish that on people that are down and out.My point wasn't that people should go without necessities. I understand that injuries, job losses, and rising living expenses can put enormous pressure on families. I just believe that budgetingand planning are important whenever possible, while recognizing that sometimes there simply isn't enough money to cover everything. Compassion for people who arestruggling and personal responsibility can coexist. Neither one cancels out the other. We can disagree about the causes of financial hardship without wishing it upon each other.
So as difficult of problem, as this is, one for which neither of us has a good answer, society should learn from this with my comments above that they begin their lives with budgeting and planning for emergencies. It’s a strange world we live in that people do not do that. Today I heard that the average ticket at Disneyland is $301. . They are boooked all of the time, so there is a lot of money being wasted, as you have folks that have not done so well with their budgeting and planning for emergencies. When the economy turns around, people will learn from these sad stories and not let it happen to them. I am sure that your children are not going to let it happen to them, hopefully from your tutelage.
