You've criticized Duchess for deflecting criticism of China in the same way you're doing now with Britain. Do you take issue with any specific points in the article? If so, what?

If "institutional poverty" is targeted at minorities, that's institutional racism.

Very likely but organic personally held racism probably explains why BAME are statistically over represented in terms of poverty and some very important institutions such as the police are institutionally racist simply because they have racist people driving racist attitudes right through system .
They’ve done studies that indicate very strongly that it’s harder to get a job if your identifiably BAME. Whilst this may be the result of individually racist HR staff, it’s so wide spread that to all intents and purposes it is institutionalised.
I think in the UK we live in what could be described as a racist society but one good point from the report is if we over emphasise this aspect it can have a paralysing effect on young BAME people whereby underachievement because of racism becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Just in terms of the thread title it is probably worth remembering that every nation on Earth whitewashes it’s own history.

True. But it also needs to be exposed and criticized each time it happens.

Before you responded, I edited my post to say "article". I was referring to the "report" of the UK's whitewashing in the OP.

You're correct. That's why I edited the post, just wasn't quick enough.
