He’s sending the Marines too.

EDIT I wonder how many troops we can tie down and for how long and by “we” I mean the protestors

So far it’s about 5000 infantry, however many ICE agents and the LAPD. About a brigade of men, two Tercios or one Roman Legion.
800,000 illegals in Los Angeles alone = 80 Divisions of 10,000 each.
In the US Army, about 10 Divisions are in each unit called an Army....so there are 8 Armies of illegals in the city of LA.

A lot of folks gonna get FAFOd 😉
ICE is so scared they need the Marines to protect them now.

This whole situation could almost certainly been avoided if ICE hadn't decided to come in in camouflage waving automatic rifles to serve judicial warrants on a clothing store and a Home Depot.https://southpasadenan.com/ice-raids-in-los-angeles-detain-dozens-spark-rage-protests-clashes/

Start using appropriate procedures and stop acting like a military force in highly populated areas and maybe you won't face such a backlash.

glad to see all the state rights purists coming to the defence of California handling this as they see fit.

I remember when the Army fought trained soldiers who had weapons, command and control.

They’ve fallen so far…

There's been no polling on support for ICE waving around assault rifles in Home Depots, but a plurality disapprove of both the National Guard and Marine deployment.https://www.axios.com/2025/06/10/los-angeles-protest-national-guard-marine-trump-polling-disapprove-yougov

I bet those marines are embarrassed to be herding rioters. BESIDES being against the constitution.

Just a rap video from back in the day

Stop with the "against the constitution" nonsense. You didn't go to law school, you don't know what you're talking about.

So far the illegal deployment of military personnel to Los Angeles has accomplished the following:

1) Price tag of $134 million, and climbing.

2) Military personnel have been given no accommodations as they're being used as props in service to stroking King Trump's fragile ego and lust for spectacle. They're sleeping on floors in federal buildings, and scrounging for food.

3) As for what the personnel are doing? Standing around and wasting time as they're mostly kept far away from the actual protests.

All in all, the authoritarian overreach has helped to steel the opposition, unify it, and remove any illusion that playing nicely is going to bring about any meaningful change. It has also demoralized many members of the military. This will be useful, should civil war come.

$134 million and counting to fund this military exercise, federal tax dollars for something the state says it doesn't need or want. Worth it? I've heard Republicans say at all costs which is weird because they also say they're trying to shrink government.

Vote Up
Vote Down

So, anyhoo… are relublicans noe federalists?

Oh, the civil war is coming. That's the only way to get rid of the orange TACO tyrant.

Trump is insane and will not stop.

And to all MAGA supporters: We're watching you fuel the hate, spread the lies, excuse the corruption, and turn a blind eye to the suffering. You have made your values very clear.

Exactly.

And from what I’m hearing, most of LA is going about business as usual, most protests are peaceful and some protesters were blowing bubbles at the police.

And no, even though I wish it was, that is not a euphonism.
