I saw the right wingers are posting videos on Twitter from 2020 and pretending it's happening now.

We live in different worlds defined by different bubbles of news sources.

In all the current videos I've seen and cliffs posted, law enforcement officials are throwing cans of tear gas on people standing on the sidewalk. Then someone kicks the can back at the officers and they are beaten and arrested by cops.

How's this playing out overseas? Do you see any signs of authoritarianism?

It’s certainly possible but I’ve seen none of it. The last time Trump sent the NG to LA (this isn’t his first time) they were occupying every street corner in my area.

Google "Map of LA riots" City Hall is almost in the epicenter.
Other riots occured in Paramount to the Southeast.
