The problem with majority vote policies is it can get out of hand quickly.

You are suggesting that the majority must be smarter about voting in new policies and you are wrong. You are also suggesting that the majority won't use that voting power to their advantage and you are wrong.

I'll give you an example...

25 percent of Americans own 3 vehicles.
Car ...[text shortened]... ill be by to take 2 of your 3 vehicles.

The majority has voted. So you agree with their decision?
Encapsulating American government into quaint analogies never works.

There's a reason analogy starts with anal.

@Suzianne

The point is sonhouse and his idea of majority voting is wrong.

People in different regions don't know anything about the other regions.
NYC and A state that grows crops are two different worlds.

The only thing I will say is wrong is the two party system.
4 would be better in my opinion.

Yeah, that'll guarantee that people in huge metropolitan mega-cities that have never even visited a farm can enact policy to govern nationwide agriculture. People who think chocolate milk comes from chocolate cows will decide the path of the American farmer.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands.

I don't ...[text shortened]... y slight hint of a differing view from yours, politically. Do you know the definition of "republic?"
If only current Republicans weren't determined to remake our Republic into a Reprivata, where, instead of the public retaining power, power is held by private concerns, i.e. corporations.

So it looks like it will be a fight between two charming characters, Carlsen and DeSantis.
The main talk there will be who will destroy our democracy FIRST?
Authoritarian government looks to be the future of the US.
Hope all you ultrarightwingnuts will be happy about that.
Don't say it couldn't happen here because our democracy is ALREADY treading thin ice and it won't take much to topple it completely and that Fuker Tucker could be the one who kills it here.
They are both following the Erdogan model.

Anyone who pledges anything to a rag of cloth is morally deficient.
Many, many Americans, most more brave than any of us, gave their lives, not for that "rag of cloth", as you so hysterically put it, but for the ideas behind it.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands..."

It is a ship worth keeping afloat, in spite of the right's determined efforts to sink it and replace it with a tyrannical empire.

I'd ask you not to make me laugh, but really - all you USAliens can do is make me snort in disdain.

Ideas... please...

I would hope that we've learned our lesson about electing a con man to the nation's highest office.

Also... come on, @Russ, you are genuinely too pathetic to be taken seriously as a person. "S&&&&er" is banned because it is a racist word? Come on, that's English Defense League level stupidity!

The majority ruled in 2020, did it not?
It didn't in 2016.

Welcome to your country. And as far as I'm concerned, all of you are welcome to it.

Well then, you should be TOTALLY ticked with Trump because he is a grift artist with pretensions of power. You do know he got fined 25 MILLION for his FIRST two grifts, the university and the charity. And now a third grift, a quarter of a BILLION taken off the backs of poor people where he begged for money that was never used for anything but keeping Trump in donuts.
Hunter is much younger, so if he keeps parlaying his Bunko until he is Trump's age, he will have eclipsed Trump's moneys. Yeah, it is not about Hunter. But you see, Joe Biden will be on Hunter's grift, and Together, they will eclipse Trump.

Hey, didn't you already tell us about Trump's riches? And tell us, why have there been no criminal charges after this hearing?? What in the hell??? You have probably thrown a brickbat into your monitors!!

I do think the university and the charity have been settled by law.
Does it not count with you that an 'offender' has recompensed, paid his fine, whatever? What do you libs want, anyway, besides the stuff of other people?

The reason for that was to get out from under a despot's tyranny.
No, the vote of the EC is done in a way that the majority CANNOT rule.
I am going to guess that you do not know the true nature of the EC. I love it when y'all say it is so ooolllllllllldddd. What has old got to do with it? Seriously. The constitution, the Bill of Rights, all old.
