@kellyjay saidWhy in your opinion should people be forced to listen to far right conspiracies online? Why can’t I have somewhere I can go online without having to listen to booger, jj and mott.
Suppressing voices who are expressing opinions about a health issue, even those with years of experience in the fields to promote one side of a discussion, is not the same as ranting hate towards someone, as you seem quite good at here.
I realise that some people like to ram their reality down the throats of others but those others have the right to not listen and once again only a government can suppress your free speech.
What you’re asking for is right to prevent me from avoiding your delusional nonsense and protect my children and grand children from the same.
When I was a young man I soon learned not to wear trainers if I wanted to go to certain nightclubs, I wasn’t happy about it but “Their gaff, their rules”.
@kevcvs57 saidYou are not thinking these things through instead you are reacting to labels that have been placed upon people as if that alone is all it takes to validate or invalidate an opinion. The words far right and far left do not an argument make, and someone saying that is misinformation or disinformation is also just a label, a cheap way to not look closely at what is being said, so it is the truth by label, not content. We are running down a path of guilt by association, we are not looking at individuals, we start calling them names and completely ignore the content of the words.

What ...[text shortened]... ners if I wanted to go to certain nightclubs, I wasn’t happy about it but “Their gaff, their rules”.
When the leading words on any topic are the far left or the far right before they start talking about anything, lines are immediately drawn, and sides are taken, if you don't ignore those things and pay attention, you will miss all of the content. Your reality isn't that well-founded it has more to do with how you label people than listening to the points individuals are making.

@kellyjay saidYou’re talking like an ardent Qanon operative right now as if there is no such thing as reality.

And you’re sidestepping my question concerning my right to NOT to listen to your reality if I choose not to.
The internet is a recent phenomenon in the long history of human communication and it brings with it the ability to thrust your opinion on everyone all the time, people have a right to tune out the other that they find offensive and stupid.
Your claim that race is the same as optional characteristics like religion and political beliefs is errant nonsense or just a blatant lie.
You not only demand the right to judge the other but you want to force them to listen to you judging them.
Right wingers are constantly accusing the libs of trying to indoctrinate their children but it is they who demand the right to invade any safe space that parents find for their children with a toxic mix of racism, misogyny, homo / transphobia and general disinformation regarding politics, heath issues etc
Yes that was a list of labels and we have labels for the very useful purpose of categorisation, it’s what free thinking rational people do.
Finally your attempt to appear reasonable whilst not addressing the questions raised against your own inflexible right wing stance is amusing but ultimately useless.

who is forcing you to come here?
you see that is the problem with you libs…you only want to hear things that you like, not necessarily the truth.

@mott-the-hoople saidNo one, I come here of my own volition but that doesn’t mean that there should be nowhere I can go without listening to your disingenuous claptrap but I don’t bring my grandchildren with me do I.

I just don’t get why right wingers are so butt hurt about not being able to infest every square inch of social media lord knows you have plenty of your own intellectual basements to kick about in.
I’d get your point if the government was shutting down your gathering places because it didn’t like what your saying but a private company optimising its advertising revenue and me having somewhere that I don’t have to listen to what I perceive to be your toxic nonsense cannot be deemed unreasonable.
@kevcvs57 saidyou libs sure do whine a lot. ever thought of manning up and compete on your merits?

@kellyjay saidI think you misinterpreted a decision made at the corporate level of a private company as a government one. For a variety of reasons they monitor and screen content on their platform. The twitter files revealed how much thought and deliberation went into these content moderation decisions behind the scenes. There's no evidence in the twitter files that they screened far more from the far right than the far left. In fact there's evidence that they bent over backwards to keep conservatives on their platform despite policy violations. There's no evidence that any decisions were made by the government. There's no conflict with free speech law.

Why should twitter the company operate as you want it to and not how they want it to?

The publicly traded corporation called twitter made the decision to censor medical disinformation that did not jive with CDC guidelines (which was run by trump). I don't agree with that decision, but I'm generally in favor of letting corps make those decisions.
@wildgrass saidat the end of the day it really doesnt matter what you are in favor of.
