If Putin loses this war so badly that is own people hand him over to The Hague then I will chuckle myself to sleep at the thought of one of the worlds elites being manacled in the dock if Blair and Bush were with him I’d be nigh on orgasmic.
Otherwise the designation of Russias actions in Ukraine as a war crime serves the purpose of corralling international support for long term crippling sanctions on Russia, and do not start wailing on about innocent Russians, his support at home went through the roof because of this invasion as it did when he marched into Crimea and the Donbas.
Russia is losing ( or certainly not winning ) this war because Putin and his cronies spent Russias money on luxury Palaces, yachts and Mayfair apartments for their mistresses instead of upgrading its military in any meaningful way.
Russia is not a super power militarily, politically or economically it’s just a nation state like the rest of us, albeit probably the next most powerful nation state, the sooner it grasps the fact that it is not in the same league as the US and China the better. I can assure you Putin grasps it and has done for a very long time.
After witnessing the debacle of its military campaign in Ukraine you have to wonder what sort of condition it’s nuclear arsenal is in.

However, there is no outstanding ICC warrant (mainly because the US is not a participant and no country has an actual open standing warrant to defer them).
This doesn’t mean Bush or Cheney couldn’t be arrested if they want to Belgium. But what the hell is Belgium supposed to do against the US-bloody-A?

However, there is a wee warning that has to be made at this moment: this supplying Ukraine with billions of dollars worth of weapons, if succesful at stopping conventional Russian engagements, or causing too high a losses, can Russia see it as an existential threat to their existence?
