Every polling station I ever saw was manned by representatives of both of the big money parties. Trust isn't required.

Voting isn't a "privilege": it's a right.

In my State, changing the address on your driver's license or State ID requires a visit to a DMV office (which in cities means several hours of your time) and paying a fee. Yes, that's burdensome and adds nothing to any goal of preventing fraud. So such a requirement is just a way to reduce the number of voters.
I'm sorry? I'm sorry??? There is no constitutional provision which asserts a right to vote. You know that, but you say it anyway????Jasmine Crocket accused Lee Zeldin of accepting money from j Epstein. She was proven, without question, ol lying. When given an opportunity to walk that back, she said "NO, I will not, it is just the environment' standing by whe she said.

So here, since you are wrong, it is not a 'right', will you walk this back? don't be a Jasmine.

As to changing one's address, yes, a real hassle. Several Hours!!!...you say. Naaaa, I don't think so. Go when there are lesser crowds, or check around for the easiest process in your neighborhood. Are you saying that is 'just too much' to change your address....it is not like one does it all the time, maybe a time or two in a lifetime, and then move along. Geez.

And you flipppantly, in liberal-eze, say 'it' adds nothing to any goal of preventing fraud. What in teh HELL does that mean??

We currently have a 'system' in the UK whereby we (I'm still officially a UK citizen) have a different number for our drivers licence, National Insurance, tax, passport, and so on, which seems to me to be ridiculous. A single numerical identifier at birth to cover everything would be so much simpler, for everyone. This has been mooted for years, but always meets resist ...[text shortened]... So sure, voter ID, why not? People living illegally in any given country shouldn't be voting anyway.
Well, good points, simplification should be studied in that regard.......
but please counter Marauder arguments where he has said ( I think) that when a non-citizen, (they have many designations, but nevertheless...) is living here and working a job, and has a faammmmmmily like the Maryland Illegal dad, they should be allowed to vote, shoring up his comments by saying that the non-citizen is a part of a society where he should have a say in how the society is run.

Unbeleivable. If I'm lyin', i'm dyin'
Cover for me, i am about to play golf

Now just admit you've never read the US Constitution and have no idea what's in it.

nothing in the constitution gives a right to vote. what you give are things that cannot discriminate in voting.
there are no constitutional rights granted for something that doesnt exist...there are not any federal elections.

You can't read; it explicitly says a right to vote in all those amendments I linked to.

EDIT: The 24th Amendment too.

Here in Canada, you can vote in any election, whether it is federal, provincial, or municipal, if you filed a tax return beforehand. If you did that, you are automatically added to the voter's list if you are a citizen.

If you didn't, it is a simple matter to get on the voter's list by contacting the election officials and providing proof that you are a citizen. If you didn't do that, you can still vote on the election day by providing such proof at the polling station. But the simplest thing is to file a tax return every year, even if you had no income. It works very well.

Cough cough, Amendment Fifteen to the Constitution (ratified on February 3, 1870).
