No, he writes a lot, for sure. But specifically, if each citizen, today, has photo ID, is it ok with all of us to require it be shown at voter precinct.
He has not answered that. Plainly put, you will not find his yes or no anywhere in the forum
no1: No, I don't support every citizen having to carry a government issued document to exercise their rights. That flips the central idea of what a government is for as declared by the Founders in the Declaration of Independence.
Notice what the first word is.
@no1marauder saidYes, I acknowledge that you wrote those words. Funny you say a citizen should not be required to carry documents to exercise their rights. Yet we are required to carry a drivers license.so you are driving me crazy with your simple Suzanne and Sunhouse logic. What you say simply does not square, I am sorry. Like, should granny be required to carry a drivers license to drive, or not. (No!!! Don’t answer, I can’t do this anymore.)

So…the question is, if (hypothetically) a person’s eye iris is adequate to vote (no papers!!), would you be ok with all qualified citizens, with certified irises , voting?
This could be the last post on the subject!

See the apple, see the orange.
@AverageJoe1 saidBut to get right to your hypothetical, there is no proposal to create some kind of national identity card (with a photo, mind you) for every citizen in the country. You've given no explanation how such a card would be created and distributed either.

So it's kinda like "what if the 300 Spartans all had machine guns instead of spears at the battle of Thermopylae".
@no1marauder saidVerdict! Defendant loses, lack of supporting evidence, directed judgment. His only witness testified that it is too much trouble to carry a document to a voting precinct. Not enough to sway me, Judge Trump..
Driving isn't a right, voting is.
See the apple, see the orange.
Observation of the court after bench trial. Should have requested bleeding heart jury trial..
@no1marauder saidYou are reaching, I have said very clearly that everyone wakes up tomorrow and has a photo ID on their bedside table. Or whatever. Thus no reasonfor me to explain ‘ how it is created’. A fairy brings it during the night. Get real, whatever, they have it.

OK, we can put the icing on the cake when Susie Anne jumps in and says “”there’s no such thing as a fairy. “””
All of you are pitiful. Just the fact that you were trying to qualify by asking how it is created shows you are grasping for straws..
@AverageJoe1 saidJust the fact that you acknowledge no such thing exists makes your entire point nonsensical.

I go to my polling place, give my name, they pull up my records (with decades of my signature), I sign and they give me a ballot. Why should I have to show some card with my picture on it? Maybe I forgot it, maybe I left it on my dresser. What difference does it make?
@no1marauder saidThis is actually your best post on the subject. It is like we are sitting at a Starbucks..

I’d laugh, and say yes, you would go to the voting precinct, and give them ‘’a’ name. 🤫
And what is this ‘pull up some records with (40 or 50, decades) of signatures’
. (Is this little volunteer gonna confirm some signatures to match?)
Then, if I follow, you are handed a ballot you do what you want to do with it, and off you go. Following that logic, I guess you go across the county to another precinct and give ‘a’ name, follow same procedure.
No confirmation of any sort? Not even a forged birth certificate, which you created last night.? And you suggest you lost your ‘card w picture” but were able to vote on your word?
Picture me doubling over at Starbucks, and calling people to the table, saying would you repeat to these people what you just told me?
Can’t you just hear them?? “Lib, ar’ya?”
PS: records w signatures?🤣🤣🤣
Uh oh, look back in the courtroom, the judge is admonishing your lawyer for bringing this thing in there.

WTF would I bring the ballot anywhere else? You fill it out, go to a scanner and the person there feeds it in.
All you are showing is the utter lack of any necessity for any further procedures. That you talk like a moron doesn't change that. People in New York are perfectly aware of the voting procedure and if some nitwit made a big deal of it at a Starbucks they'd look at you like the lunatic you are.
So what if a person has to check the signature? A person would have to check a photo as well. Your objections don't make any sense.
EDIT: Actually now that I think about it, there's a person at the scanner watching to make sure you do it right but the voter feeds the ballot in.
What all this really shows is that right wingers just want to limit voter participation as much as possible. That's in keeping with hundreds of years of the movement's hostility to democracy and any attempt to expand it.
There's a certain irony that this latest attempt will fail because of the anti-democratic filibuster rule that right wingers just loved when there was a Democratic President and Congress.

Funny? Don't see how.
A "little volunteer" has to match Photo IDs don't they? And people's appearances can change a lot.
As to signatures:
" The research showed that, based on the eight characteristics defined by the authors, most individuals’ handwriting changes very little over time, and that the most common change in writing occurs in line quality at an average age of 77 years. @no1marauder saidLittle feller, you have not identified yourself properly. These people do not know who you are. I think I will go in there and say hello. My name is marauder. Here’s a piece of paper with my name on it. Will you hand me a ballot I have a golf game to go to..

Yeah, you are right that the person who is holding the ballot all filled in, whoever that might be, feeds it in.
@AverageJoe1 saidYou forgot the part where I have to sign my name. And also I just happen to be on the list of voters in that precinct.

So what's going to happen? Somebody else is going to give my name and sign it just like I have been for almost 50 years? What happens when I walk in 10 minutes later?
Your arguments are BS.
