@metal-brain saidFirst of all, the goal of each is different. The goal of gene therapy is to treat a disease by altering genes; the goal of the vaccines is trigger an immune response.
If I am then please explain the difference. What exactly am I confusing?
Secondly, unlike during gene therapy, vector vaccines don't have the specific DNA sequences needed to alter genes; this is why the FDA and CDC explicitly state the vector vaccines won't alter DNA.
@metal-brain saidThis is an indirect change. Merely getting sick alters genes in the same way vaccines do, when your body learns to fight that sickness; that doesn't mean getting sick is a form of gene therapy.
Introducing a new or modified gene into the body to help treat a disease"
Notice that last of the three. Introducing a new or modified gene into the body to help treat a disease does not change people's DNA, yet it is on the FDA's list.
That is exactly what mRNA vaccines and viral vector vaccines do. mRNA is a gene. It is introduced into your body to treat covid19, a disease.

That is false! The FDA website proves that is false. Read the website again. Viral vectors do not alter genes. They introduce genes that alter the biological properties of your cells.
" vector vaccines don't have the specific DNA sequences needed to alter genes"
Neither do any viral vectors. You are making another false assumption.
"FDA and CDC explicitly state the vector vaccines won't alter DNA"
That is because they cannot honestly say they are not called gene vaccines using gene therapy technology. I already proved that with this website.

You have psychosis. You are in denial of reality and you are clearly not the only one. That is mass psychosis.

Vaccines do NOT alter genes. They introduce modified genes. The viral vector vaccines use a genetically engineered virus to introduce a modified gene, but they do NOT alter genes.
@metal-brain saidI 100% agree, and have been saying this over and over. You keep making the claim that vector vaccines are a form of gene therapy when they're not; and the reason they aren't is for the exact reason you just stated here.

@metal-brain saidI didn't say that viral vectors alter genes; I said the goal of gene therapy is to alter genes. You even quoted my exact words.

Your reading comprehension is seriously terrible.
@vivify saidThat is not the goal of viral vectors, a gene therapy technique according to the FDA website. You said vaccines altered genes and that is not true. That is not the goal of any viral vector, vaccine or not.
I never claimed viral vectors alter genes; not once. I said the goal of gene therapy is to alter genes. Your reading comprehension is seriously terrible.
Not all gene therapy techniques alter DNA. Viral vectors are a perfect example.
There is no conspiracy to mislead you by government, Harvard and Wikipedia. The proof is right in your face. You just refuse to accept that reality. There is no conspiracy to alter anybody's DNA or genes either. The vaccine manufacturers simply don't want you to know they are called gene vaccines which use gene therapy technology because it would cause vaccine hesitancy. That is all. It would be bad for business.

@metal-brain saidWrong. I said vaccines may *indirectly* affect genes; work on your reading comprehension.
You said vaccines altered genes and that is not true. That is not the goal of any viral vector, vaccine or not.
You're also wrong that no viral vectors alter genes:
https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/understanding/therapy/procedures/#:~:text=Certain%20viruses%20are%20often%20used,chromosome%20in%20the%20human%20cell.
Gene therapy is designed to introduce genetic material into cells to compensate for abnormal genes or to make a beneficial protein. If a mutated gene causes a necessary protein to be faulty or missing, gene therapy may be able to introduce a normal copy of the gene to restore the function of the protein.
A gene that is inserted directly into a cell usually does not function. Instead, a carrier called a vector is genetically engineered to deliver the gene.
Nothing left to debate. Gene therapy uses vectors to alter genes, vectors used by vaccines *don't* alter genes; therefore, vaccines are not a form of gene therapy, and they are not "gene vaccines".
Like I said earlier, you've been confusing gene therapy vectors with vaccine vectors, which is the source of your mistake; you've been misreading the whole time.
@vivify saidYou are contradicting the FDA. They list viral vectors as gene therapy and you know it. Stop lying.

That is a false assertion. Vaccines do NOT alter genes.
@metal-brain saidYou're pulling a Marjorie Taylor Greene here. In that same post, I also said they alter genes "indirectly". You are dishonest.
Here are your exact words.

@metal-brain saidAgain, you have poor reading comprehension.
You are contradicting the FDA. They list viral vectors as gene therapy and you know it. Stop lying.
I agree that they are used in gene therapy and have been saying this repeatedly; but they way viral vectors are used in vaccines are *not* gene therapy.
@shavixmir saidChrist, I'm trying to be nice to this fuktard, and he just fails over and over at basic reading.
Oh my god. The relentless stupidity!
@metal-brain saidSlow down. Reread my post. Vector *vaccines* are not gene therapy. There's a difference between vectors used in vaccines and vectors used in gene therapy.
You are contradicting the FDA. They list viral vectors as gene therapy and you know it. Stop lying.
If you still can't understand, you're beyond help.
