In theory they do but in real life overworked underpaid government defense lawyers sometimes don’t make the effort.

Did these women have private defense lawyers?

"Privilege" implies too many things. Whites in many countries have an advantage over minorities; but the same goes for any country run by the majority. Do we call it "Chinese privilege" in China?

Children born to rich parents are privileged. Whites born in America or Europe have an advantage. They are not the same things. Whites don't have it made ...[text shortened]... advantage through centuries of systemic oppression that still continues to this day, that's enough.

China has its own form of “white privelage” in their beauty standards at least.

Pick an African country, pick the resource stolen and by which colonial power, pick the year or period of time and we will discuss the matter.

I dont need to ask anybody. I know enough to know that these stories are exaggerated and embellished, the real culprits are the corrupt local politicians and a stupid uneducated population. The colonial power, and large multinational corps go in and bribe the politician, and pay the locals a decent wage [by their standard] to get the job done. It is years and decades after the locals realise the value of their resources, but it is their stupidity that led to poor decisions. In any event, the locals do not have the expertise neither the capital to successfully exploit their resources.

Turns out the Black one had a public defender and the white one had a private lawyer.

That would explain the results. Classism not racism.
