The Six Flags reference has to do with people who are spending money like crazy so as you write about how much things cost, my response is people should do a better job, budgeting their money
Correct, it is not complex at all
I start a thread about why rich people get away with basically paying no taxes and all you want to do is complain that middle class people who DO pay taxes are lazy because they occassionally want to ride a roller coaster.

@wildgrass
Top 1% of earners: ~38.4% of total federal individual income tax revenue
Top 5% of earners: ~60% of total federal individual income tax revenue
Top 10% of earners: ~71% of total federal individual income tax revenue
USAFacts
Bottom 50% of earners: Only ~3% of federal individual income tax revenue

How much more do they need to pay to make you happy?

Yeah. But the rich people who own these companies pay themselves extremely small salaries. Mark Zuckerburg's taxable income is $1 per year. You can donate your stock gains to a charity you also own, borrow against your own portfolio, and you can cash out substantial amounts of capital gains every year at 0% capital gains tax. The system taxes income for people who work hard ...[text shortened]... 's tax rate is 1.1%
Jeff Bezos 1.1%
Elon Mush 2.2%

Everyone else in America averages 15% rates!
Are you really that stupid ? Taxes are paid on all income. Some pay income tax, some profits tax, some pay taxes in dividends and a whole host of other taxes. There are taxes on capital gains, when stock and shares are sold, property taxes, estate taxes when transfers are made etc.

Income taxes dont hit the wealthy hard because their tax burden falls in other areas. Most middle class income earners only pay income tax, because they have nothing but an income in the firm of a rich man. He should be thankful and shutup. The rich have other tax issues.

Mark Zuckerberg has 15% of so of Facebook which paid about $8,300,000,000 in taxes in 2024. I would say 15% of that is a chunk of money.

How much did you pay in 2024?

Gosh I've said it a hundred times. Earners are not the problem here. Rich people are different people than the people who pay taxes.

Earners should be paying less taxes and the only reason they aren't paying less is because of all these moochers who are rich but don't pay taxes on any of it.

Put another way, meta paid an income tax rate of 3.5%. 15 percent of that number is a pretty small number.

I paid 15%

Sounds reasonable.
Plus they hire about 80,000 people.
They contribute to the economy.
Whereas your type are a drain on the country.

There's no evidence that facebook would hire fewer people if Mark zuckerburg paid a higher tax more in line with the rest of us. And if we tax them that would also mean more take home pay for their employees.

I don't think he's directly bribing people for their votes.
oh for fuk's sake. who, in the history of citizens united, EVER suggested that billionaires are sending checks directly to individuals?

I pay 37%. So since you opened it up, tell me, how much more do you think I should pay?

I have to assume, given the nature of viewpoints of liberals here that some of you are receiving money and/or benefits in someway from the federal government of the United States. Of course, none of you will admit to it.
But could one of you pretend that you are one of those people, and tell us why that is OK for you to take those benefits and payments , when people like me have put the money into the accounts from which they are paid.

I think the IRS should raise your taxes to 40%. There is no evidence that you will quit your job if you pay more taxes.

If you have a net worth less than $50 million, I think you should pay a lower rate.

Does it bother you that all these rich people are paying 1% and you pay 37?

I say the man deserves a few more luxuries.

Over 1,500,000 workers are funding Bezos' passive income. He only gets paid because the government defends his property rights.
