Rather than building walls, what if we spend the money promoting democracy in those nations so that people don't want or need to leave? I believe this is what Biden was aiming at.
Short, sharp, overwhelming wars that establish freedom, after which we get out, have worked in the past. Korea took 3 years. Germany and Japan, 4 years. But Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan? It's like we forgot how to do what we already did successfully. Puzzling...
