NYC did not give their lives away for the immigrants in 1890. Gave them nothing, actually. So, yes, when they went to work, they BENEFITTED the city.

So why are you providing benefits - do you need more workers? I thought Britain was crowded already.

The USA deports lots of people - about 80% of 'asylum-seekers'. Usually because they are hear looking for work, not asylum.

That's been true for decades, regardless of the administration.
