I think a medium slows light by absorption and re-emission, a relatively slow process that takes time so the effect is a light enters port A and leaves Port B maybe at half the speed of light. In other words it is not the same photon that that enters port A and exits Port B. The original photon entering gets used up in the absorption and re-emission deal. So it's not a huge huge mystery, not near as mysterious as to why c is in fact a constant.
The use of c for the speed of light in a vacuum can be traced to classic Latin texts in which c stood for celeritas (speed).

Vacuums, of course, can be found inside the skulls of the eminent scientists Tsetse, Freako and Limeboy.

Whoa.
sonhouse Spacey has no idea that China is claiming they recently made it to the moon?
How did anything space-related escape your orbit?
Short story: China says they got to the moon, no proof of any previous lunar landings.
Coincidentally, this announcement aligns wit ...[text shortened]... es Photoshop and other programs to doctor their images.
You're not claiming they don't are you?[/b]
Er, I actually knew about the Chinese rover and congratulated them for it on their site. I think he was saying the Chinese now denounce the moon landings. Never saw a reference to that. I think that would be fake news, real space faring nations don't dis each other like American traitors. We never said for instance, the sputnik was faked since we could aim radio antenna at the orbit and hear the dam radio inside, beep beep beep, but that was a tad before your time. Do you also deny Sputnik? I can tell you I was 15 at that time and noboby but NOBODY was trying to deny they launched Sputnik. In fact if freaked EVERYONE out. Like the Russians can launch actual satellites but the US for some reason is so far back in time we couldn't launch a satellite with a cannon much less a rocket? Where does your paranoia end? Or start for that matter.

And if NASA doctors space images it's to get the best data out of it, like lower contrast or higher contrast or color shifts, single color highlights which reveals data not otherwise seen. But you are just a dim witted traitor anyway hell bent on your hard on against NASA so anything I say would never make a dent in your so-called brain.

You certainly implied them. The big implication, the Chinese agree with your treasonous charges.

Sure. How do you breakdance on a flat planet? BTW I am still waiting for the link to your Phd paper disproving Einstein about the constancy of c. Oh yeah, also the Van Allen belts since you obviously are such a maven about it. Where are those papers?
How do you breakdance on a flat planet?

The same way you break dance on a flat dance floor... duh!
(I don't mean 'you' specifically)

If you're break dancing on a rounded (and recently waxed) dance floor you'll find yourself constantly trying to avoid sliding off to one side or another... it's basic physics.

Do you have one of those word-of-the-day desktop calendars?
I'm going to guess treason was Wednesday two weeks ago, and it still feels shiny and new to you, right?

The Chinese didn't make it to the moon, either.

What say you do an informal, unscientific poll with the gang from your bingo group?
Ask if any of them would go to the moon if it were possible.

Ask yourself: why have they not commercialized the moon?

You do realize Republicans, not democrats dissed Apollo, right? They let it be known we beat those nasty Ruskies, full stop, no need to do that science fiction crap anymore.

YOU on the other hand ARE American, not Russian, so an AMERICAN who disses Apollo IS treasonous. You should go join Snowden in Russia they would welcome you with open arms.

Stay focused; you don't have much time.

I think I have at least as much as you. And there are plans to commercialize the moon, water ice has been found, that will be a huge boost to further development, since you break down water with electrolysis from solar energy, which would come in at 1300 watts per square meter with no atmosphere to stop it, and 1/4th of that so about 300 watts per square meter to the house, and you get O2 to breath, water to drink and H2 for rocket or fuel cell fuel. Saves billions on carrying extra stuff up there.

Here is more data about the lunar modules than even you care to know.

https://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/alsj-LMdocs.html

The Wiki page on the lunar modules is here, with plenty additional data:
