we also have the fat beats(good instrumentals), some crazy scratching, and other stuff but in the end of the day you must have said something.
then we have freestyle. dcan you imagine a guy going for three minuts and just improvising a lyric to a beat and making it rhyme.
and the reason usually hip-hop music that use instruments is that it started that way. people wanted to make music and couldn't afford the instruments, so they got beat boxes who could emulate a whole bunch of instrmuments, and then it stuck.
I think that the beauty has to do achieving the goal of hiphop and the way you achieve it.
