In Engurlunde, dispite the banishment of monopoly by BT years ago, they still have the monopoly. ISP's are still charged £60 by BT(or so they tell you, I'm not sure who is lying?) to check if your phone line is 'broadband compatible'. You then still have to pay 12ish Engurland quids to BT as well as your ISP subscription.
BT are a bitch to get in touch wi ...[text shortened]... terating this exact story about BT. So I think that this is general practice by them.
