ISP's are still charged £60 by BT(or so they tell you, I'm not sure who is lying?) to check if your phone line is 'broadband compatible'. You then still have to pay 12ish Engurland quids to BT as well as your ISP subscription.
BT are a bitch to get in touch wi ...[text shortened]... terating this exact story about BT. So I think that this is general practice by them.
I am (until tomorrow) with them in Ireland, and they are streaks better than Eircom for dealing with. They used to do call backs (you keep your place in the queu, but they call you when it is your turn) if you were waiting for longer than 5 minutes, but I notice they've stopped doing that now.

I signed up with BT two yeras ago. I signed up with them, it was dead easy and they were great. UNfortunately, they have not let me do so over the last six months. Honestly, I don't know what's going on with them, but something definately is wrong. Not just me. Watch dog has been swamped with calls from people just like me. 🙁

Since I have had absolutely no luck with BT, I have had to look in other places to have internet access. I have stumbled across these dudes: -

Has anyone had any experience with them? Good/bad?
Feedback appreciated.
It's crap. Practically dial up speed in the evenings.

I'm bringing mine back and keeping the phoneline.

Small fish in a big pond. It'll be years before they get grounded and start churning out a decent service.

Same old, same old. BT are always on Watchdog! It's the perils of being the biggest company on the market.
