Because by the front it presents that's what it purports to be.
The fact that ANY leader can say that "God is on OUR side" is mind boggling. I support Bush (and we will NOT debate this) but how arrogant must you be to say that God is on our side? Muslim nations do it. Pretty much everone but the commies do.

Also, haha you voted for a chimpanzee.
PS. I'm an atheist, I don't believe there is a God let alone that he is on someone's side.

Corrections needed for this thread:
1. It is cheaper to give someone life in prison than it is to carry out the death penalty.
2. The only way someone who gets a sentence of life without parole can be let out of prison is if they win an appeal (either being found innocent or getting the sentence reduced) or are issued a pardon by the President.
3. Appeal to emotion is a fallacy for a reason.
4. Strawman is the same.
2. So what?
3. No lack of appeals to emotion by the anti-DP lobby. How many news photos have you seen of candlelight vigils? Why not try answering the "granny" post directly?
4. What strawman?

We are all apes no matter how small you want to go into it. I may have voted for him but at least I can vote.
As I mentioned before I don't believe in heaven or hell so I came to the conclusion long ago that there is no god.

One Japan brought it on THEMSELVES by attacking the US. So war is war.
Ok a few hundred thousand civilians dead as opposed to 2.8 million in total. That's not a bad ratio considering we should have made the communists extinct and you can take that the way I meant it. And by the way, EVERYONE AND I MEAN EVERYONE commits atrocities in war so don't thin ...[text shortened]... his makes sense but it does to ME and that is the ONLY person that matters in this world.
2. Vietnam a civil war? What on earth were all the Americans doing there? Ever heard of the third way? Ever heard of Napalm? Ever heard of carpet bombing? Mhmmmm?
3. And who else bombed the living daylights out of Cambodia? The US. And who vetoed UN help to Cambodia after it was liberated by the Vietnamese army? The US...
Don't try to wash your hands in innocense in these parts my friend.
4. The mere fact that all you think about is yourself, is probably part of your problem.

It was a response to "I personally am glad to spend tax dollars to keep this guy in a prison system..."

It was a response to "The bad thing is there is a strong chance he may even get out one day."

Have I made an appeal to emotion in this thread? Answering the absurd granny post? Sure, I would want the perpetrator locked up for life with no chance of release. I would go to the trial to watch him be convicted and sentenced and led off. I would not support the death penalty in this case or any other.
4. What strawman?
How about "DEMOCRATS = ARE AGAINST PUNISHMENT PERIOD."

Of course can you ever see a non-Christian president of the US?

2. The Vietnam war began when Vietnam split into two "different" nations. The northern part was hell bent on making the southern part communists. If that isn't a civil war, then the US civil war wasn't a civil war nor was the french civil war. As for the Americans being there, there were advisors at first. We had to contain communism. Napalm is a weapon and so is carpet bombing. They are not nuclear nor gas weapons.
3. Pol Pot killed 2 million people!!! Let me repeat, 2 million! It was a third of Cambodia's population. Without the US's support, Pol Pot will have probably died as whatever they call themselves in communistic countries. I guess premeires (sp?).
4. Well I'll tell you what, if you consider anybody's elses opinion of yourself over yours, than my friend, you have a problem.

As for all your references to abortion, Islam and such, I don't agree with it. If you want to put be into a political party I would be a republican. However, as a biologist, the baby isn't born so you can abort it. The human body aborts roughly 65% of fertilized eggs or geneitcally inferior babies (that was crudely stated but oh well). As for Islam, it is a religion, the opiate of the masses (Marx) and that's the only thin I agree with Marx on. No god. We are here or are we. Does what I type mean a thing to you or me? No nothing does.
