There has never been a steel high-rise that collapsed due to fire until 911. And none so far afterwards. Cannot happen. See: 'The Towering Inferno', a film inspired by the building of the WTC in 1974. The article in Popular Mechanics explaining how the collapse happened was a cover piece and not real science.

Do you have any background in physics at all?
The towers didn't fall due to fire only. It was the combination of damaged external
supports, then the super-heating of the steel due to jet engine fuel burning
which weakened the supporting deck steel.
When the deck steel gave way, it caused the concrete floor above to fall.
The weight of the concrete impacting the floor below, caused subsequent floors to fail
due to the weight. Then it became the domino effect.
The reason this has never happened before is that there has never been another
incident where the exterior support structure was damaged at all, there has not
been a fire started with jet fuel (and lots of it), so what is your comparison to??
A movie? Ever seen Martians attacking us? Ever seen killer tomatoes attacking us?
Ever seen a car named Christine killing people? They were all movies too!!

For your theory to be true, the fuel would of had to
Number 1 not burnt on impact,
2: would of had to be absorbed by at least 10 to 15 floors below the impact zone, and then they would not have weakened the steel as the leaked fuel would not of been heated , as you need heat to weaken steel.
3: A domino effect would not bring a building d
wn so precisely, there would at least be a blowout at some stage.
So Mr physics man i ask you the question, how are you trained to judge this.

Took a course in college physics at Carnegie-Mellon while in high school, and although a chemistry major, took several semesters in college.
Thus I know the temperature jet fuel (kerosene) burns at, and the temperature steel weakens at (I did grow up in Pittsburgh!).
Wasn't it a deal Silverstein got? The asbestos in those buildings made them White Elephants. $2 bil to remove it was the estimate. Yet 2 months later they come down and he gets the insurance money.

The flashes are fairly easily explained as well. As the electrical started to rip apart,
the subsequent ignition of fumes, liquid fuel, or other combustible materials would
generate the flashes you speak of.
And you are full of yourself if you don't think the building could collapse as I described.
For your information, fuel doesn't vaporize upon impact. There would have been an
explosion, but the shards of burning debris would be spread all over the place, if only
due to the momentum and inertia effects from the entry point. Did you sleep during
those classes??
Edit - Stick to designing roads civil boy and leave the construction to those of us who
know what we are doing.
