@Drewnogal
I have friends who worked as midwives, they were very accomplished and dedicated. I chose a much different kind of work. My own experiences of midwives are not so good.
@rookie54 saidThat grin should not have been a factor for disqualification, since babies come out crying and screaming anyway. But sometimes they need a good spanking on their rears, to start them off. You would have made a natural midwife, by not needing to spank them....one grin, that's all.
i applied once for midwifery
as it turns out, i have a "creepy" grin
@very-rusty saidAre there "midhusbands"?
I was told I was the wrong sex, kind of bias in humble opinion. 🙂

@very-rusty saidActually, yeah, I am.
Are you against that possibility? 🙂

Midwifery is a long established craft. I don't think men could do it, OR be taken seriously in it. To adequately help a woman through pregnancy and delivery, I think that a woman would be best-qualified to help and advise.
I just can't imagine being 8.5 months pregnant and being told "do this, do that" by some dude. Sorry, dude, piss off, what would you know about it?
@suzianne saidI've said it once and i'll say it again - sexist.

I'll add simple minded and pathetic.

@suzianne saidWhy couldn’t men do it?

Why shouldn’t men be taken seriously in the profession?
Why is a woman “best qualified” over a man?
I suppose men can’t be gynaecologists either?
Sexist, misandrist.
Explains a lot.
