Relativistic limited focus thinking. Since when does any sane, self respecting person presume to compare the heritage of the United States of America and Finland?

The US may be somewhat silly.
However its businessmen, politicians, and elite class,
happen to be some of the wealthiest most powerful men on the planet.
There is a part of the US which is pretty powerful. There is also
a large slave base pumping the wheels for these very powerful men.
Raising your children here, will make them very powerful if you are
a wealthy or somewhat important individual. There's the catch.
The United States is scary.

conversation, Worm. You accept confiscatory taxation as normal.
Edit: Gut issue isn't a "what you're entitled to" ranking but freedom.

I just watched some clips on you tube, with a normal, apolitycal song talking about freedom and there they were, dozen of USA people commenting "Thank you God that we don't have these problems", "God bless america, I sure appreciate freedom we have here" like it is only society in XXI. century without repressive system. the degree of freedom a country has, is defined by the level of freedom the lowest class has.
and as some of us seem a bit unfamiliar with what the word freedom really means, here's a reminder from merriam-webster:
Main Entry: free·dom
Pronunciation: \ˈfrē-dəm\
Function: noun
Date: before 12th century
1 : the quality or state of being free as :
a : the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action
b : liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another : independence
c : the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous <freedom from care>
d : ease, facility <spoke the language with freedom>
e : the quality of being frank, open, or outspoken <answered with freedom>
f : improper familiarity
g : boldness of conception or execution
h : unrestricted use <gave him the freedom of their home>
Freedom is the voluntary selection of one's chains. Some Americans freely chose to be chained to their ignorance on all things existing beyond their comfort zone and borders... which is bliss. No matter how much exasperates the rest of us.
I secretly envy those kinds of dudes, because what has been seen cannot be unseen. There's no way back once you think for yourself.

That said, truth is that it's quite unfair to generalize, since there are many Americans who think for themselves and are aware (and appreciate) the world beyond their borders. Those who are intellectual redneck, unfortunately, give a bad name to the rest since they happen to own Washington.
