in the UK.
The British School in The Netherlands in The Hague has big chess pieces and a board on the playing ground. That's a bit UK too.

I can't read Dutch. What is it about?
Just about a tree that has it branches filled with teddy bears and such.

So, shav, can I stay at your place or not?

I'd be happy to come to Amsterdam, as long as you add some chess into the program. October would be fine for me, and it was Marinka that wanted to go to the coffee shops, not me. I stopped smoking Hash 6 years ago, and it'd probably make me whitey 😛
Wow 6 years and you're still waiting to come back down to reality?
Must have been strong stuff !

The Philosophers Hotel is really nice, and beware The Jolly Joker Coffee Shop 😉

Nope. Just talking about how much / fast the furry animals might get stolen. That's about it.

How can you not want to play chess in Amsterdam?

It's true, the massive chess set is at the Max Euwe square, right next to Leidseplein.. I'd say an excellent area to have several parts of the day:
-Waterboat tour can start there
- Rijksmuseum is just 5 mins away from there
- Fast food all around there as well as cheap tourist restaurants
- Large coffeeshop: The Bulldog: Snoop Dog just shot a video there a couple of weeks ago
- Party's can be held there too, ranging from bars to clubs (Melkweg, Paradiso)
- Chess can be played, even outside on the huge chess board (althouh not sure if it's a all-year thing)

I'm in!
Looking forward to meet some of you 😉

Don't forget to use the heavy-duty clothespins.
