There are such things as phychological tortures...from what I've heard they're no more better than the physical kinds, and has been shown by Guantánamo Bay they don't work very well, if you're referring to this I'm afraid I cannot justify this either.
And yes I am quite idealistic at the moment. 🙂

Also, to put it bluntly, torture is against the law, if a country wants to torture people they shouldn't deceive everyone, they should state publically that they will torture such and such people and make it the law; they should remove themselves from things like the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, which make them committed to not torturing people: and show everyone how they are morally lacking, and not do it behind closed doors - where no one can know they would be tortured.
We need the rule of law, not shadow government actions not accountable to anyone.
