True...a lot of the insurgents were his own troops...

There are such things as phychological tortures...from what I've heard they're no more better than the physical kinds, and has been shown by Guantánamo Bay they don't work very well, if you're referring to this I'm afraid I cannot justify this either.
And yes I am quite idealistic at the moment. 🙂
You would not consider some form of "torture" even to save your own countyrmen? What if you had a young daughter who was kidnapped by a sex pervert and buried under ground and had only 2 hrs to live. The pervert was captured ,but won't tell where she is buried. Would you not do anything to save your daughter's life. Idealism is great as long as everyone is just as idealist. However, as you will see, The World Sucks! Most people realize this by the time they are 30. Keep your idealism as long as you can, but remember, Freedom is not Free.

Of course I would consider it, I may even do it myself, but it is morally wrong to do it.

Also, to put it bluntly, torture is against the law, if a country wants to torture people they shouldn't deceive everyone, they should state publically that they will torture such and such people and make it the law; they should remove themselves from things like the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, which make them committed to not torturing people: and show everyone how they are morally lacking, and not do it behind closed doors - where no one can know they would be tortured.
We need the rule of law, not shadow government actions not accountable to anyone.

So you do admit that there is a point where morally is to be thrown out the window? It's called survival time and i think we have reached that point.
