Really annoys me! Car interiors, seating and gloveboxes and the rest are tested over life endurance of multi multi thousands of cycles upto 85C (Cels) [n down to -55]. If they fail it's back to materials. . Everything else we buy should achieve the same!!!
The only thing I can find about my hard drive is that Seagate bought out the company. Seems like 95 to 104 F is listed as normal and 122 F is too much. When I was looking at gaming computers they mentioned 140 F as a bit high. My computer is a standard home computer. With ChessMaster on it went up to 140 F today.

How long have you had it for then? If you have have had quite a while could well do with a bloomong good vacuuming out. An amazing amount of dust and unwanted fluff builds up in PC's.
