They all have big name in cricket, and they were taking wickets in thier last matches, but now situation is changed, all teams preferd spinner with bit ability of bat. Saqlain replaced by shoaib malik, wether shoaib is not a good off breaker, mushtaq replaced by Afridi, In india, Sehwag, Tendulkar, Yuvraj they can spin as well . so i think its also very important for quality spinners to improve thier batting. to be a part of odi games in future.
Well it applies for pace bowlers as well...recent trends in cricket suggest bowlers becoming more adept at batting and batsmen trying some part-time bowling...and wicket-keeprs being good batsman... giving side more options...basically trying to be all-rounders considering how tough it is to keep your place in side...
If u take the highest wicket takers in test cricket...3 of the top 5 are spinners...in one-days 4 of top ten wicket takers are spinners..The thing is spinners have their place in team with pacers..Pacers open spinners dominate in middle and pacemen come back lat6e overs for reverse swing..
