That's a major whooping. First I wondered why the Windies had to qualify, now I'm wondering why Sri Lanka had to - surely a 5-0 (i think that was the scoreline) whitewash against England earlier this year gave them some credit?

No surprise - England have been on a slump ever since the Ashes. Why is it teams always have great bowlers against us in ODIs? Sri Lanka have Vaas, India have Patel and Irfan, Pakistan have Shoaib and Asif - all phenomenol in ODIs. England have no outstanding ODI bowlers at the moment.

7 down for 107, Aussies are the best and the favourite for all tournaments, what ever and where ever, they have ability to adjust thier selves in all conditions. England has a big slump in thier cricket from a long time, i think it will continue for some more years because they have no good bowlers in rest as all teams has a bit better. ECB is not sincere to make plans for cricket in future for england.

well england has the problem more of injuries than anything else. When was the last time we saw a full england team. Too many key players are out of team for injuries.

Agreed - it's not that bad for England, just injuries. As for youth our team is pretty young, with great young players like Ali Cook and Stuart Broad coming through. With those in the team performing, Simon Jones back, Freddie back on form and Tres back the future does look rosey for England IMO (in test matches anyway 🙂).

Dont agree... what about harmison, Mahmood, Jones (when fit) hoggard?

Pakistan are very, very inconsistance... One day they look world beaters, the next day they look rubbish!

One bowler and one batsman is injured. not injuries, just check the international rankings of them, they are not on the top of rankings not now not b4. Nick Knight is a good bat but i dont know y he is not in team.

Nick Knight?! The man is 85 years old!

Vaughan out injured, Tresco out (injured of sorts), Jones out injured, Giles out injured, Hoggard out injured, Freddie just back from a long injury and not bowling.

That's 6 key players from our Ashes winning team.

Well england 125 all out in 37 overs and india 126-6 in 29.3 overs pretty comprehensive victory...I think match would have been a fight in 225 score range....

India beat England by four wickets in the Champions Trophy curtain-raiser in Jaipur after the hosts had produced an excellent bowling performance.

Munaf Patel and Ramesh Powar each took three wickets and Irfan Pathan removed Andrew Flintoff for a duck as England were bowled out for 125 in 37 overs.

England fought back valiantly with the ball, taking six Indian wickets in all.

But the tourists had not scored enough runs and Yuvraj Singh (27 not out) got the hosts home in the 30th over.
