I with you. Definitely wine. I love Shiraz, but any of the robust REDS.

So far (I only really started drinking about 2 months ago) - Scotch and dry or vodka lime and soda.

I'm really keen to try some classic cocktails like a Manhattan, or a Godfather or somthing like that. Or a Martini to see what Bond drinks.

Any suggestions or warnings?

LOL!!!

I'm seeing a funny side here Crita... but didn't something important happen around about a couple of months ago?? It's not driving you to drink already huh? 😉

ha ha ha. Good point!

Funnily enough, the first real drink I had was a scotch and dry that one of my dad's mates bought me at my engagement party. I haven't looked back since! I never made the connection before - I thought that was supposed to start when you were a bit older and had been married for a few years! lol. What hope have I got now? 🙄

Hi Chrissy, good to hear from you. Hope everything is going well for you. (There's always a spot in the J&B clan if you want to come back). How's your study going?

I am not, now, nor have I ever been, an acoholiv 😵 Palynka seems on the right track, though, preferring wine over other recreational alcoholic beverages.

If I must drink spirits, I prefer decent single malt Scotch, as does adramforall 🙄

In the beer department, I currently prefer Hoegarrden on tap and Innis & Gunn Oak-Aged Ale 😛
For cocktails, I prefer stuff like Mojito or Gin Tonic. Something with lemon or relatively acid.

Regarding spirits, my name says it all, I love palinka! Also a good Cognac is excellent and I'm a sucker for a good Portuguese aguardente.

Whaaaaaat?
No way. About the rum and coce I must agree but if you mix properly it's always better with the alcohol in 😏.

My favorites:
- Grand Marnier
- Tia Maria
- Normal beer
- White beer (Weihenstephan or maybe Hoegaarden)
- Strong beers from Belgium, like Westmalle, Brigand or some like that.
Sometimes I drink wine too. Hmm this looks like an alcoholic to anyone who doesn't know me (and everyone who does lol).

Anything that won't make me blind.

I am partial to spending the evening with my Old Grand Dad, though.

What little man? 🙄 Are you starting to see little men?? 😉 What colours do they come in? 😵 Are they losers from Lilliput like yourself?

Gulliver washed up on the shore of Lilliput and was 'captured' by the inhabitants while asleep....

"He discovers that Lilliput and Blefuscu are permanently at war because of differences over the correct way to eat a boiled egg – from the rounded end according to the Blefuscudians, or from the sharp end according to the Lilliputians. The supporters of the differing views were called "Big-endians" and "Little-endians."

The story is a parody of the European nations, particularly England and France, who were in Swift's view constantly at war over 'trivial' matters.

The egg dispute was a mirror for the argument between consubstantiation and transubstantiation in the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church"
🙄

(This is the same writer, btw, who offered a definitive - if somewhat sarcastic - solution to "The Irish Problem"... Writing today, he'd have fun with The Excited States!!!)
