Tell me how I CAN better enjoy using Hyperwords.
P-
The hyperwords menu is also added to the normal right click menu (just noticed that this behaviour has changed a bit in the new update. Will have to check out what else is added/changed).
Enable the hyperwords toolbar.
This is why I find it amazing...
I'm on ebay, and something is quoted in dollars. I highlight the amount, then with a quick wave of my mouse, it's converted to euro. I want to check the amazon price, so I highlight the product name/ISBN, and another quick wave and a click, and I have searched amazon for the product, and can see reviews, prices, etc. Maybe, I want to google it. Again, I highlight the name, and either use the mouse or hit enter, and a new tab is opened with the google search results. Or maybe I'm on amazon, and want to check availability on ebay. 1 click later, the ebay search is shown in a new tab.
While writing a post on RHP, I'm not sure of a spelling/meaning, so right click the word, and I can check a number of dictionarys with a minimum of fuss.
I read about something, and want further info, so I highlight the name, and using hyperwords, I'm straight onto the wiki info.
I read about a player that Manchester United have been linked with, and I highlight his name, and immediately search youtube for videos. Same with bands, comedians, etc.
I want to book a hotel in Dublin, and highlight the address, and using the hyperwords context menu, I can immediately load up a googlemap to find out exactly where it is, or find out what time it is in a certain destination, or find out the current weather there.
I read a video review, and want to see what imdb say about it, so highlight it, then references, moviedb, and I'm put straight to the page I want.
All that is just using the context menu which pops up when I highlight.
Using the toolbar, I might be doing some cooking, and my scales says a weight in lbs, while my cookbook is talking in grams. I type in the weight in the toolbar, and then convert it. If I want to google something which isn't written on the page, I just type the word in the toolbar and press enter twice, and the google results page is loaded.
If I want to find a post in the RHP forums (or only pages from a certain site), then I load up the site, type in the search, and then use the hyperwords function "search this site".
If I want to find out the whois info of a site, I just click on the hyperwords icon, and then go to page info.
These are just some examples of why I find hyperwords so good. All of the above are doable by simply opening new tabs, typing in the appropriate page, doing a bit of typing to search that site, then click once you've found the search result u were looking for.
I just find hyperwords so timesaving and click/typing reducing, I'd honestly say it's invaluable. It takes a bit of getting used to as you are used to doing the long process, and that is your instinct. I was the same, but saw the value so forced myself to use hyperwords. I had to adjust my browsing behaviour similiarly when I started using tabbed browsing.

Like Rag said in his long winded post - HyperWords is basically the best thing since sliced bread.
Just customize it so that it pops up when you want it to. I've got it set to Select text -> F2. It's a great tool if you actually USE the Internet...
Go to View -> Toolbars -> Customize
Drag the @ sign into the Customise Toolbars window that popped up and you won't see it again...

Originally posted by Ragnorakhave sent feedback myself, the whole being stuck on my homepage regardless of url typed / selected is just a bug too far.
They seem to have introduced a few bugs in the latest release.
Send them feedback. http://www.hyperwords.net/contact.html
In the meantime, you can just drag the @ button somewhere out of the way.

Rec for the userguide above - it is a very powerful tool as you demonstrate.
Hi All.
Very sorry for the sticky '@'....
Fixed now. Version 3.6 will be out this week, I hope you'll have a chance to check it out. And yes, please do customize how you want Hyperwords to work, we don't know all of you personally so we can't customize it for you ahead of time! :-) Any feature suggestions are of course welcome though! Please email us at contact at hyperwords d o t n e t (sorry, trying to avoid email spam crawlers).
