The only thing keeping me from deleting IE is that I can't log in to RHP on Firefox. Help? The Firefox help page is just too technical to follow. I haven't got any peculiar firewalls up or anything and I can access all other sites just fine.

Go to:

Tools > Options > Privacy Tab

In the Private Data section click the 'Settings' button and make sure Cookies is ticked. Hit 'Okay' and then 'Clear Now'

Then try and log in again.


If you don't use IE to log into RHP on that computer then it won't happen again.

Try following and see what happens:

Edit ->Preferences.
Content tab -> Enable Java Script
Privacy Tab -> Accept Cookies
Click close

How would you delete IE?

Usually it's a firewall or cookies issue.
As it works with IE it's not likely a firewall so check you have cookies allowed in Firefox - Tools/Options/Privacy.

What exactly happens when you try to log in?

You can get rid of IE. It's under the "Add/Remove Windows Components" section of the "Add/Remove Programs" option in the control panel.

Just un-tick the IE box there...

Its not just cookies. You'll need to clear your private files and cache in both IE and FF.

Not really [well it IS possible but it could be dodgy]
It's best to keep it for when you may need it - for testing and such. Also some sites you have no choice and have to use IE. eg. There's a horse racing site I go on that only works with IE. And ASDA [UK Walmarts] was the same though they've fixed it now.
You can just set Firefox as the default.

Why would you, though? I use Firefox as my standard web browser, but occasionally a page doesn't show properly in Firefox, and in those cases I still use IE.

That doesn't remove IE it just stops you from using it.
