So now I got Xp on that Nstp or whatever harddrive and i am putting in the ME Cd.
I put in Me cd and hit setup and it says:

16 bit windows subsystem

An application has attempted to directly access hard disk, which cannot be supported. this may cause application to run incorrectly. Choose close to terminate.

I hit ignore.

Next window:

Setup cannot run from within Windows 2000. Restart using 95/98 then run setup. Or start Msdos and then use setup.

How many hard drives you got in the computer? And how many operating systems do you want?
I thought you were getting rid of XP and sticking with ME.

Can you make some sort of a floppy start up disk or something and then it opens up in dos and do format c?

That's what I did with the Me one before..

I was reading about partitions but I saw it said right click, but I have no clue what they are talking about. I opened up disk managment and I right click on c drive but I don't see partition and I am the admin!

Put Xp cd in start computer when you see welcome screen hit f10.

I hit f10 and it goes to password, I enter that and it goes back to the normal loading screen.

Start the computer by using the Windows XP CD-ROM or the start-up disks. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press F10.

In the Recovery Console, specify the appropriate installation,

What does that mean exactly? I put the cd in first and then started an saw nothing different. I tried opening the cd after windows was on and then pressing f10 and nothing.

You can't change NTFS to FAT in disk management - you have to reinstall [or get Partition Magic maybe or a program like it - and even then it's not a certain it'll work properly].

Put your XP disk in and go through the motions up until 'format' option. Format the required volume using FAT 32. Remove said disk then set up ME on the FAT 32 formatted volume.

This thing just won't die!

http://www.cyberwalker.com/columns/feb04/reformat-NTFS.html

I typed that format C: thing and after 5 seconds it goes back to c:\windows.

Nothing got formatted... Why won't it just die!!

I even tried format c: by itself , press yes and nothing happens

You could try using a third party tool such as 'Partition Magic'.
