No. But it may be that your friend is having feelings for you which are confusing him. 18 is still very much a hormonal age. There is obviously a reason why he doesn't want to be one of your best friends any more. I say try to discuss it with him to find out the reasons, but don't try to change his mind.

It's probably that bulldookey high school BS. I remember seeing some of that in college too...there's this idea that you are "supposed" to only have friends of your own age group. It kind of goes away as you get older.

You don't need to hang out with all 14 year olds to have a 14 year old friend. He should still be her friend but be like a big brother to her, not cut her off. That's a sign of a real prick; or more likely someone who's simply weak and gets pushed around by his friends.

I think you should respect his decision. He might have started growing fond of you and knew it might lead to some trouble considering you won't be an adult for another 3 plus years.

If he wasn't a friend, he wouldn't have told you why he made his decision and just started blowing you off. That would ruin a friendship more than telling you why you can't be friends.

I met my wife when I was about 22. I had seen her before when I was 19 and she was only 16 or so. I thought she was cute, asked who she was and found out she was a bit too young for me at the time.

Years later we bumped into each other, talked... and she called me a few days later to see 'what was I up to today'? We hung out at the beach or whatever... and about 15 years later we are married and have a kid. I'm sure if I was with her when I was 19 I'd be someplace else right now... and not with her.

Your avatar reminds me of something I saw on TV the other day. Some dude got mad at his city council so he took his massive bulldozer, encased it in concrete with assault rifles sticking out of it, and started smashing up the town. A do-it-yourself heavy battle tank. The cops couldn't do anything. They commandeered other heavy equipment and tried to ram his tankdozer but it was unstoppable. Eventually it collapsed under it's own weight or something and the guy shot himself in the head inside.

not if consent is given - look it up in the law thing, it's there.

Do England and Ireland share the same laws on the subject? State to state here in the US it can be anyplace from 14 or so to 18... Here in my state, it was 18 years each if a parent wanted to press charges.

A boy at a school down the road from me got expelled for screwing a 13 year old in the music room. He was 16. The girls parents are pressing charges.

recently the law against age of consent fell apart in the Republic of ireland.

It was deemed unconstitutional when a young guy challenged the law under the argument that "he thought the girl was 17".

In the UK , there is no constitution.

edit . when i mean fell apart, i mean that the parliment had to sitt for an extra week to rush in legislation to stop paedophiles getting off on convictions

Ireland is rewriting the laws at the moment. Previously, we had different ages for the age of consent for females and males.

I asked 3 males tonight about the laws of consent, and all 3 gave different answers as to what the laws were. The answers ranged from 16 to 18.

i tried looking for it, but nothing said anything about it being legal yet. they were talking about it though (a couple of years ago) it’s not a law that they enforce anyway so it might as well be changed . it might help some of the many under 16's that get pregnant and want an abortion.
