I watched QI on Friday night (with Stephen Fry) and I was amazed!

There's a good chance British people haven't heard this song, it was banned by the BBC until 2002.

Banned? A song that's so old? Why?
Yeah. Exactly...what's so special about this song...

Well...it has the highest number of suici haunted you
My heart is tellin you
How much I wanted you

well, it's kind of a classic, and if anyone has missed it so far, they should definitely listen to it. there are loads of versions covering it though, with two different lyrics plus the hungarian ones. and many many instrumental versions. there was even a donald duck story about it when I was a kid.

even though the billie holiday version is probably one of the most famous ones, björk has a nice version of it as well.

here's a version from the insane moonbat diamanda galas

a modern hungarian version by angela poka

sarah brightman

shame the kronos quartet version isn't on youtube. but anyway, I like the freaky diamanda galas version maybe the best.

Attention craver. Copycat. Obsolete.

Brothers and sisters should not procreate.

I like Nina Simone's version, and yes I am gay.

Sarah Vaughan's Whatever Lola Wants is a great choon from a similar era. (actually, I don't know if she was the writer)

with a superb remix by The Gotan Project...

(Random video attached to the song, I think)

1. Undo the caps lock.

2. No, no he wasn't. The urban myth is that the bassist "Twiggy" played Paul on "The Wonder Years." It is of course, a myth, and not true.

I like Alex Harvey's version too.

Ps I'm not gay - at least not in a homo type way. 😀

Seitse, you know I love you. But please don't ever post in one of my threads again. You're like salt on my chocolate, like a fart in a spacesuit.

You sour my inspiration and everything else I hold for beautiful in this world.
