it's not a good idea to sleep through your biology classes. - go in front of a mirror, and take a good look inside your mouth. see the hard white boney things in there? well, they're called 'teeth'. then take out a basic biology book, and find the chapter where it discusses herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. pay attention to what is said about their teeth, especially in relation to their diet. then take another look inside your mouth. ponder. and never sleep through your classes again.

Erm... Where do I start?

Firstly, not all crunchy creature thingies can be considered "meat", so you don't have to miss out on protein at the expense of the taste of meat. Some caterpillars and grubs are so sweet, you can eat them with custard as a dessert. There are lots of tasty bugs and worms which don't taste meaty at all, and if you cook them right, they go nice and crispy.

Next, things you find in the sea, lakes and rivers...

I've lived mostly on digestive biscuits and yoghurt for extended periods with no adverse effects. They make soy yoghurt, so you should be all right.

Exactly the point i was trying to make. But then again, you are probably dumb enough to believe everything that you read in a school text book or via the Mass Media.

Just because humans have teeth doesn't mean that humans are supposed to eat the flesh of dead animals. Apples and oranges.

Care to cite some real evidence?

In fact your comparisons are dead wrong.

there's that damn natural science trying to fool us with facts once again! luckily there's a wealth of crackpots to set us straigth on ideological grounds...

you just didn't get a bit of what I said, now did you? the point was human has teeth for both vegetarian AND non-vegetarian diet. that means we are omnivores, and our body is accustomed to function on mixed diet of both veggies AND flesh.

I made comparisons? I'm pretty sure I did not.

http://www.vegansworldnetwork.org/topic-natural-diet.html

she's talking about herbivores vs. carnivores, human is neither. she also clearly has no clue aboiut what are the traits of carnivore teeth, or she is plainly lying to support her agenda. I suspect she just doesn't know better. I pretty agree on the milk though.

http://groups.msn.com/CrazyVegan/humanherbivore.msnw

come on! "bears have claws and pigs cannot sweat" is NOT in any way relevant to humans being omnivorous! seems they missed the phylogenetic tree altogether. and the whole page was stuffed with ridiculous disinformation. there is so much blatant biological errors there I don't even know where to begin with. this is exactly the kind of crap that gives vegetarians and vegans the bad rep they don't deserve.

http://www.all-creatures.org/articles/murti-polveg5.html

again, trying to mix omnivores with carnivores, and in case it doesn't fly, he throws in a little disinformation about a completely different branch of mammals. he even claims chimpanzees, which btw are the closest relative to humans alive, don't eat meat, which is a laugh. chimps are omnivores just like humans. to top it all, he throws in NAZIS!! if that doesn't alert you on propaganda, I don't know what does.

the diet of the human genus is known to be omnivorous since around 2 000 000 years ago. modern human has been around for about 200 000 years now, so you can get a picture of what kind of adaptation we are looking at. we are biologically fully adapted to use mixed diet AND even depend on it, but it's possible to leave the meat out if you're prepared to compensate the nutritional limitations of pure vegan diet. otherwise you're just abusing your body, and that is plain dumb.

know what you eat, wether it was vegetarian, vegan or mixed diet.

Wrong! So, what you're trying to say is if i dont' eat meat then i am "abusing" my body? You must be joking. That doesn't even make any sense whatsoever. Straight from Madison Avenue, that one. 😕

No you miss the point altogether. And your needless insults don't help your case. Again, you can put most anything into your mouth, chew it and swallow it, but whether or not it is actually good for you is another thing altogether.
