Think of it another way. Cows produce lots of methane which damages the ozone so by killing and eating cows we are actually saving the ozone layer.

Eat meat, you knows its right.

😀
Cows etc etc are bred for food requirements. So we would not have a surplus of cows. (shame about the surplus of humans I say)
Im Vegetarian and considering becoming vegan, I have tried before it is so difficult. There are things you wouldn't believe have milk in them like spaghetti!! Good Luck. I have a very good iron hey say if you have vit c drink after brocoli or spinach or high iron food sources it helps the body digest the B12.

it helps with the iron, not b12. the liver stores b12 for 2-6 years, and without meat, eggs or milk products in your diet you will run into trouble after it runs out. first comes pernicious anemia, and if you continue neglecting b12 there will be irreversible damage in your body. it's a real danger.

As I am off school for summer now I think it's a good time to give it a go, without t ...[text shortened]... re black and look reasonably similar to leather, I should be alright I think.

Many thanks.
Hahahaha, hahaha, wait...wait...one second, hahaha HAR HAR! Ok, so you're a guy? With junk and everything? And you want to be a vegan? I mean vegetarian is bad...but...Vegan? I hate you. In fact, this article's somewhat immature, but maybe you'll enjoy it.

Which should be an obvious indication that being a vegan is NOT SMART OR NATURAL. "The more you know".

Yea it is a bit immature. I read a bit about this thresher thing.

From Wikipedia:
There are other common criticisms of vegan ethics. Steven Davis, professor of animal science at Oregon State University, claims that the number of wild animals killed in crop production is greater than those killed in ruminant-pasture production. Whenever a tractor goes through a field to plow, disc, cultivate, apply fertilizer and/or pesticide, and harvest, animals are killed. Davis lists field animals in the U.S. that are threatened by intensive crop production. In one example, an alfalfa harvest caused a 50% decline in the grey-tailed vole population. According to Davis, if all of the cropland in the U.S. were used to produce crops for a vegan diet, an estimated 1.8 billion animals would be killed annually. Gaverick Matheny wrote a rebuttal called Least harm: a defense of vegetarianism from Steven Davis’s omnivorous proposal. Matheny claims several major flaws with Davis' reasoning, including the notion that vegans generally eat at a lower trophic level. Because of this, according to Matheny, a vegan diet actually results in fewer deaths due to farming, Another error, according to Matheny, is the equation of death with harm, claiming that death by thresher is less harmful than captitivty and slaughter. Matheny also claims that Davis' findings suffer from numerical error; currently nearly 10 billion animals are killed each year in the U.S. for food, more than five times greater than Davis' estimated 1.8 billion for crop harvesting. Matheny concludes that "After correcting for these errors, Davis’s argument makes a strong case for, rather than against, adopting a vegetarian diet."

That website is amusing, I've read some of the other content but the guy that owns it seems very angry for some reason. 🙂

Edit: Yea, I am a guy, with junk and everything.

However, this is, of course, utter nonsense.

With tens of millions of chickens alone being slaughtered weekly in many countries, I think a 50% reduction vole population, which probably wasn't very high anyway pales into insignificance.

I could never be a vegan, I love eating good food too much. I know there's good vegan dishes, but it's the letting go of all the other possibilities that cuts it for me.

Are voles tasty, or is that just if you're an owl or something?
