I'm now fully self employed, with my own car. Took me a year, but i managed it. Been renting the past year, but i started working with my own car yesterday.

I got confused when you said “if you hail an Uber you get a proper taxi driver”
No worries. In Ireland Uber has not been allowed to hire or offer work to unregulated drivers. Imagine if you used it in London, and you got a Black cab instead of a Prius driven by a teacher. I have two apps, and a radio to work off of. Uber would be the one i use the least, in fact i don't think i've ever accepted a job from it. Halo ( My Taxi) is quite popular here, but i make 99% of my money from my base radio.

It's the biggest portal in Dublin for the average joe. It can't compete for business work due to the percentage it takes for itself. It's mostly small jobs though, less than 5km.

    Actually, yes.

Just about to quaff a bottle of Rioja white as it's my day off tomorrow. I work 6 days a week and take Sunday off...which makes me kinda like God, but clean shaven.

I think Andy wants to be foregiven for his sins. 😉

To be foregiven, is to be forearmed.

God doesn't have that much stubble so it's not really a massive issue.
