I support GB's membership of this forum sub or no sub (that’s irrelevant). Since I joined in 2008 he has been one of the "characters" here, a personality if you like and I would fight for his right to be who he wants to be and post what he wants to post – we believe in a free world right?

But here's the thing for me; he enjoys his notoriety, his infamy. He has always revelled in the fact that threads are started about him when he is banned (frequently). He enjoys the attention – good for him.

Being old, being ill, being lonely, or being whatever spin he wants to put on it, is completely irrelevant. As FMF often puts it "you are what you post". GB is a very bright man, if he wants to be treated differently all he has to do is modify his style. It’s called getting on with people.

You’re a respected member of this site GP, but your own ability to get on with people has no bearing on GB's intention to get on with people. I get on with GB most of the time, I think most here accommodate him to varying extents, occasionally the camel's back breaks and a debate ensues. I'm only involved in this one because I reached out to him via the PM debacle. Otherwise it's business usual.

You can get your Bobby fix through PM message, he's always willing to fill your box with all the ramblings he would have posted in the public forum that pushed topics off page one and users away from using the forum.

Go ahead and message him, shoot the breeze... just don't expect him to listen to what you have to say because he's really only interested in what he has to say.

I respectfully disagree. I seem to get several PM's/day from Bob, and when I respond and disagree, (such as with his enjoyment of The Bucket List, or The Good Shepard, both of which I found difficult to watch for personal reasons), he does listen to what I have to say. He is just lonely, and although I rarely participate in these forums, preferring the more comfortable environs of our clan forum to assuage my own isolation, I can understand where he's coming from, being even older than GP, and being raised in the culture of the "me first" US of A.
So, cut him a break. It's only fun to pick on people bigger than you, after all.
