5. Doyle woke in a cold sweat. Not another nightmare! oh please. he swore off those late night dill pickles before. He went in to the office ready for a routine day, driving in the high occupancy vehicle lane (HOV) with Tom Jackson, his neighbor and Mark Johnson, a computer match from the metropolitan ride along program.
6. The MRAP was a Fritz derivitive. No one really quite understood how the computer arrived at matching candidates. Frankly, most people never even gave it much thought... Especially on Mondays. Like other programs, the MRAP was efficient and purposeful, serving the apparent greater good on a traffic filled Monday commute. However, it was to be that same kind of Monday that would prove dynamic, asymmetrical, and full of the psychological tensions that foreshadow intrigue and complexity right from the very first move.
10. "Hello, Doyle." Fritz's Senior Adminitrative Assistant, Gooden Western Knight (GWK), spoke directly, "The Executive Board approved the takeover of the Euro Dvision. the plan is to begin dominating the Italian market, starting with a takeover bid on Sicilian Manufacturing, Inc. Send your best negotiators to the table. We received an insulting 995. Counter by taking the offer, but then drive a huge stake up their . . . . .well . .two can play the exchange variation."

Tell him to call me immediately on the secure line, I have a task for him". Ginger hung up and dialed through to Stu. She shivered as the memory of their last encounter in Rangoon worked it's way down her body...he really was the best. Stu picked up the phone and said.........

"Well listen love I'd better hang up and give him a call. I'll talk to you later and maybe we can relive Rangoon if you're willing". Willing? she thought...I'd jump at the chance to, once again, experience the real meaning of ecstacy. "Sure, give me a call and let's see what we can arrange". With that they hung up and Stu dialed the secure line wondering to himself what Doyle had in mind. Ginger opened the top drawer of her desk and removed a fresh thong and made her way to the womans restroom.....he really was good.
12. "'Lo, Kitten, setting up another little get together, are we?"
"oh, I WISH! no, this one's an urgent assignment. give Doyle a ring up right off, secure and all that, won't you, darling?" melting, floating, electrical waves flowing through Ginger as she purrs the words.
14. "What's up, Doyle?"
"Stu, need you to fly to palermo, now. head to Corleone and meet with the Don. We have a lowball offer from them and we need to get Europe in play. So far, they're offering us crumbs and getting us to overextend ourselves while we're lacking in research and development. Counter with a demand that the local Bishop step up for us."
Originally posted by Kentron17. Just before Stu boarded his Alitalia flight 522 from Zurich to Palermo he made a call to the Cathedral of the Most Impoverished, on via di morta and asked to speak with Bishop Joey, his long time friend and confidant. He was informed that the Bishop was, at that very moment, hearing confession from the Don of Palermo, Don Donaldo but she would see that he returned his call. Stu said not to bother that he was about to board a flight to Palermo any moment and he'd make contact with the Bishop on his arrival but could she please let him know that he'd called. Sister Cousina said she would and wished him a safe flight. After hanging up the sister hurried to the confessional, where she gently knocked, and wispered, "He is coming".
16. The bosses were not just playing for equity... they were playing for advantage. If they were going to be equals in this venture, they intended to be "Primus inter pares" – The first among equals.
18. Bishop Joey immediately began making arrangements for a proper welcome, after quickly assigning 9 novinas for a pennance. He sent Vinnie, the 10 year old adorable altar boy, to knock on the door of the castle and ask to see the visiting Dark Knight. "tell him, Vinnie, that he must stand guard in front of our little community today. Let him know the urgency. We are about to have a "negotiation."
Originally posted by coquette19. Obediently Vinnie made his way to the castle and as instructed gently knocked on the large oak door. To his chagrin no one answered so he knocked a bit harder with yet again the same result. Now he was getting angry, f@#k the Bishop he thought, and took hold of the big brass door knocker and banged away. This time, in seconds a stern looking older gentleman in, what looked to him like a choir gown, answered the door. He said in a deep, rich voice, "Can I help you young man?" Vinnie said that Bishop Joey had sent him to to seek the one known as the Dark Knight. He was told to enter the study and to wait there while the "keeper of the door" went to fetch the Dark Knight. Vinnie looked around the study drinking in the beauty of the artwork that adorned the walls and the sculptures sitting on pedestals. One in particular caught his fancy it was of a nude woman. He approched it and began to feels it's curves when all of a sudden he heard a slight cough come from behind him. He turned around, blushing at being caught with his hands "in the cookie jar" and said, "please, kind sir, don't tell the Bishop. The Black Knight replied, "If you tell me why you seek me then I shall mention nothing". Vinnie conveyed the Bishops message to which the Black Knight said, "Go back to the Bishop and tell him I understand and will be there shortly and that he is to fear not for no one shall enter our community today as long as I stand guard". Vinnie thanked the Black Knight and ran, as fast as he could, back to the cathederal to convey the Black Knight's message. He thought to himself, the "negotiation" will go well.
