I heard that doing 100 pushups right away is nt as good as making 10 series of 10 pushups. Do you know if that's true? And if it is why so?

All the way down? 500 straight pushups?

I'm skeptical at that, if you did 500 straight without a break. How much could you benchpress?

On 1 handed, make sure you don't put your hand in the middle...put below your shoulder.

Try clapping. That is probably the hardest of them all...unless you can't manage one handed's.

Putting the hands side by side excercises the triceps...and regular ones do the pex.
I really don't care about the size of my Tris or Pex........

Having a big heart is more important than having big non-cardio muscles! 😛

Doing 100 tests your strength, doing 10 sets of 10 tests your endurance (if you do them less than 30 secs apart).

I would say doing the sets would increase your strength more efficiently. However, if 100 is your max, then doing 3 sets of those would be the most benefitial.

They're about even. I know someone who runs and does muscle work. He is a very good runner. He runs 15-20 miles every morning he can. Amazing.

Without muscles, running is more difficult...vice versa, without cardio, you don't have the endurance to use muscles.

I'm afraid summer is here 😵

My goal is to be able to do 100 pushups. When I started, I gained 4 pounds in 2 weeks 😲

Does any of this mean anything, or is it a 'man thing' that I'm not supposed to understand cos I'm a woman? 🙂

I am a runner (not an olympian, but I have done various marathons and ultra marathons) and do pushups as a part of my training. Do 60 in one go every second day.

PS how many times a week does your friend run 15-20 miles?

I would certainly hope it is just a 'man thing', considering my low score. 🙁

I believe he does it every morning...at least 5 days /week for sure. He's got good character inevitably. He kept his new years resolution of not eating a dessert for a year and no pop for a year and no pizza for a year!

If you do 2-3 sets of 60 everyday.....
