since 10 pushups won't really tax your muscles. 10 sets of 10 is not too effective. now three sets of 30 might be more effective than one set of 100.

If you're weaker in upper body, it probably will.

The best thing to do is to do 3 sets of your max potential of pshups. If you can do 80, do 3 sets of 80 a day = 240 / day.

The more sets you do of your max potential, the quicker you get better...of course, doing 20 sets of your max in a day might hurt you 😛

If you do 10 sets of 10 reps this would allow you do the push ups at a faster speed and work your fast twitch muscles giving a quicker pump and more cardio. Maybe! I tried the clapping pushup, but my face hit the floor before i could clap and i broke my dentures.

Let's assume that you want to do 3 sets each day as you are suggesting, how long should you wait in between each set?

Close hands pushups are way worst for that. Till you try it you just won't believe how hard it is to gow down.

Not more than 30 secs for sure. When I did them I waited something like 10 secs.

Edit: I missed your point. In that case do it allong the day. One when you get up, one in the afternoon and the last one at evening. I think that's best.

how many pushups can you do clapping your hands?

and how many can you do with your hands right beside each other, touching?

1 handed?
It all depends on whether there's someone laying underneath me.

Head touching the pillow OK, or just laying cheek to cheek? I haven't got the statistics for "head touching the ground". Chest touching chest is normal.

One hand down and one hand somewhere else, I can manage about 3,687. Both hands touching (behind her back) about 4,750. Both hands down but not touching, about the same.

Me clapping? I've never tried clapping at the time. Usually she hasn't got breath to spare to clap, either, but she does afterwards and squeals and screams: "すごい、あれはすごい!!!(=Sugoi, are wa sugoi)!!!" [translation: "Wonderful, that is wonderful!!!"].

Now, if you want her statistics...

Thanks. 🙂

After I did my first set I struggled to get up, so waiting just 30 seconds isn't doable, but I don't get any exercise, so that'll explain it...

I either do them throughout the day or do them all within 1 hour.

The only thing is not to forget. If you do this everyday...doing your max pushups possible, 3+ times / day, rewards are high
