I'd say choose your own path. There are many ways to get good at chess, and figuring out which way suits you comes with experience. People might have ideas on how to improve, but only you will truely understand what works for you. I'd say finding some good chess books is a good place to start, and maybe a teacher if you're really driven to improve fast. The ideal way to improve though is to just play the game and learn as you go.

You should have asked this in the Chess Forum as the clowns here will turn it into a circus act in the General Forum. See Thread 69763

Find someone who is much worse than you and pad your rating.

Is this what you were looking for z00t?

If you're too lazy to put together a proper sentence, the outlook probably isn't very good.

It's not where a question is asked, it is what question is asked and the answers given. If the user keeps asking the same dumb question in hopes of getting the answer they desire... that is when things get ugly.

You didn't really tell us what level you already play, so I'll assume you are new to chess.

Learn ALL of this. You will be a much better player if you can absorb half of it.

That's a little harsh. I've seen worse 😉 Besides, why does it matter, especally when most of his request is fairly easy to interpret? I'd say anyone that discriminates against that is either looking for a row or is trying to be one of those aspiring comedians that redhotpawn has such an abundance of.

It's actually nice if users can put a little effort into forming their posts. I've got no respect myself for the "R U NE good @ chess" type posters. This isn't chat where you need to type fast, it's a message board.

Uh Zoot, these clowns that post in this forum are the same clowns that post in the other forums, aren't they? I have seen some really smartass responses in the chess forum as well. This site is absolutely full of them. I understand what you are saying, it's just nothing is sacred in this venue.

Okay...here comes the secret way to win every SINGLE game. Only very very exclusive group of strongest masters know this fabulous secret.

First play these moves in order (as white) 1.e3 2.e4 Qe2 4.h3. Now, say these words aloud "I will never let you down, Michael Jackson". Wait for couple seconds, and bang, your opponent has blundered.
