Phuket is a hole. The only reason to go there would be as a jumping off point to go on a 3 day trip snorkelling/diving out to the Simillan Islands (absolute paradise). 11 days is too long in Bangkok. You'll want to go on overnight trips to the islands, or Chang May or something.

Just find cheap flights to Bangkok, go to Khao San Rd, find somewhere decent and cheap, go on a couple of day trip to Chang Mai, go to the North East of Kao Pha Ngang for a few days. Sort most of it out when you get there.

Trust me, if you commit to 11 days in Bangkok, without seeing some of the rest of Thailand, you'll seriously regret it.

Temples? Are you referring to Angkhor Wat in Cambodia? Amazing spot as well. You can easily fly from Bangkok to Siam Reap (where Angkhor Wat is). 2 days is loads in the complex. Nice cheap hostel called Sidewalk, and check out Happy Herbs pizza. Get extra happy. 😵
