Oh, allright, so its okay for me to be REMINDED of this, every time I see a post by this person, who had this avatar, and I have to remember that the pic, is telling me, that he should be chained, because of his race and because he is inferior. Okay, I get it now.

Racism = Black man in chains (check)

Racism = Black man in chains because of his Race (check)

Racism = Black man in chains because of his Race because he's inferior (check)
Really? You looked at that avatar and saw something that should be done? With all the other ways it could have been interpreted, that's the one you chose?

When one is looking for racism, one should be prepared to find it in unexpected places, I think.

symbols, meanings, pictures, contexts, pictures of pictures, simulacra, hyperreality. a few decades ago it was realized (or at least put into mainstream) that you just can't go assuming a pipe is a pipe. especially if the guy who paints the picture of a pipe says it's not a picture of a pipe.

a whole another question is whether that guy is lying. but I h be chained BECAUSE of his race. or that the man is in some way inferior because of his race.
I think that if a black person finds it offensive, then it's not up for question by some pastey white dude who wants to act gangsta and hard on the forums....let's face it, he put it there to get a reaction and he got it....war is war loser.

Can one choose not to feel offended?

Yeah, what if i want to put a Swastika on my avatar, but reverse the image it to symbolise the fact that it actually an indian symbol for one of their gods in an edgey way.....it's stilll a swastika, and no theorising from some forum geek is going to stop it being offensive to someone.

I find it funny that someo people would rather keep offending and theorise, rather than accept that they offended and move on with their lives.

It's so sad to realize how much damage the 'knights of morality' have caused to these forums.
