I am indeed stating that men and women are raped equally, although I think perhaps I should say boys instead of men. However, I don't have the academic research available at my finger tips and to back up my claims I would need to do something like a graduate thesis, which is far more work than I'm prepared to do. I'd rather play chess!

It has caused national shame, it's been debated in public legislatures, and has cost at least $40 million in a public enquiry presided over by a superior court judge, but since no hard proof has emerged that could stand up in court, no charges have been laid. No one in the community will talk openly about it, but several men of the cloth and community and business leaders are rumoured to have been involved. At least one suicide has occurred as a result. In recent years, a great deal of money has been paid out, not only as compensation but also as hush money.

>Of course I can't refer to statistics here to back up my specific claim, but I've seen too many men who privately admit in secret conversations that they were raped as boys to think otherwise.
Originally posted by AttilaTheHornSo, tell me again how this backs up your ridiculous claim that violence against men by women is statistically equal to violence against women by men? I still don't know where to begin with your other post.

You're speaking of violence against men or boys by men. And although it may be common in your community, in no way does this make it as widespread as violence against women. It's just ridiculous to claim that it is. Violence against women still far outstrips any (and I mean any) violence against men. You wonder "why gender needs to be brought into this discussion". Gender IS the discussion.
The fact that your other post got 2 recs just shows how much education and awareness still needs to be done.

I see a lot of misogynistic attitudes here. Whether it's just what happens when a group of guys get together (insult, followed by backslapping and "oho! good one!" ), ignorance, or just the anonymity of the internet, I don't know. But I think it is a very small number of them who actually hate women and would hurt them if they could. "I have tits and Im hot and I play chess! ADORE ME!" ...Uh, no, shan't.
That attitude makes me want to skip the sisterly love and join in... Purely for the lulz.
As far as I'm concerned sex is of no relevance to chess.

Like forcing them to move to squares where they will be mated.
All this against thier will:'(
Maybe its bad to compare these chess actions to the real life, maybe its more of the other way around in the real life...

You further state that it is men who are raping the men.
We know men are raping the women.
So, I presume your arguement is that men are equal opportunity rapists? 😕
Again, show me your proof, because I can't seem to find any studies that support your claim. (Hopefully your claim is not based upon prison life).
Originally posted by SuzianneMany women- usually the ones who are vulnerable or lacking in self confidence- seek out aggressive and dominant males. What do they think is going to happen?? Maybe they think these men, who obviously lack control or see violence as the answer to lifes problems, will exercise more restraint when dealing with domestic ups and downs. Maybe, maybe not. Many people take more care over their choice of new car than over the person they choose to live with and have children with.
