Wife was gone all day visiting old friends. It rained last night so no yard work today. Read and played chess all day in a quiet house. Several cold ones lined up and ready for my attention. Talked to both of my sons on the phone, both are safe and sound. Took an afternoon nap. Today is 31 years ago that I met my wife. Maybe I should file this under "Chess Heaven"?

"Pure silence, calm and peace"... and not at all a honeydew weekend. You're

on a roll, big guy. Seems the Bigger Guy upstairs smiled down on you today.

Actually, the best parts were the desert hike, buffet (dessert hike 😉), and swimming pool & hot tub! 😀

Ah to relive the days of yore, sitting out on the praire, soaking in a hot tub. 😕
It does sound good, but I sunburn easy. 😞

Really great you were able to get away from the same ole routine

and mesh with folks in a whole other world. Happy for you, ph. 🙂

It was great! On top of that, I found out from one of the other participants that my favorite bakery didn't close (the site is now a karate place) but merely moved! So this week I will hunt it down and get baklava ... droooooooooooooooool ...

See that! Things do work out sometimes in a pleasant way and for
the best... sometimes, surprisingly, even for nice people.

Baklava... one of my all time favorites as well, Pawnie. First taste was in Chicago at the Greek Islands at Jackson Boulevard and Halsted.

One of those rare, storied neighborhood world class restaurants which are unable to take or honor reservations. Guess what. They even

served complimentary shots of Ouzo to the delight of many patrons, waiting in line out on to the sidewalk, eager to begin their revels.
