Oh tell me about it pal! Wife has been looking at books on decorating and has come up with the idea of "focal wall". Three walls of a typical box room one color (colour for our Euro friends) and the fourth a darker tone. And she hands the plans over to me for execution (think firing squard). I can generally slop paint on ok, I do the prep work right and try my best. But where those two colors come together is a nightmare. It takes me twice as long to get that corner (corneur for our Euro friends 😛) to look right as it did to get the whole other wall done. 😠

Gramps may be the champ(!) at 500/1000 posts threads at RHP. And "friendly" may be the key word here. Yeah, I know you might want to smack somebody down, but a lot of us just want to play chess to the extent of our limited ability and at least half of the pleasure we get from RHP is the conversation. It is amazing that I now have friends in Europe, Africa, Asia, and others. I win, I lose, yes, but the sun comes up tomorrow. I respect the man, I respect my opponents, the very best to everyone.

Nice new avatar Gramps. RHP keeps them small, but is that Old Ironsides? For those of you not aware, this is still an offical US Navy ship even with sails and cannons. My son is at the sub school at Groton CT and he told me that last week they came to the classrooms looking for volunteers to serve on her. But he has his heart set on submarine duty.
Just a replica of A Ship at The Site of The Boston Tea Party...

Ironsides came later. Your son is on my mind. Will pm you.

I use tape, but still. And you need to be careful not to leave it on too long or your new paint underneath will come off with it 🙁

Doesn't your wife do any of the painting? You seem to think that I am a man... hm. Seriously, if Americans think painting is a mans job, they may not be as tough as they think.. !

No offense intended sir/madame. Wife is a woodworker, but has no interest in painting. I've done enough painting over the years (both pre and post marriage) that the job falls to me by way of experience, not gender.

Glad to hear. Unfortunately I need to do both. Wooden houses are cute, but they tend to rot if not cared for, indiscriminate of the gender of the person who inhabits them. Your wife is a woodworker? Very good! Carpenter is a dying profession. if you want a good carpenter these days, you need to be one, or be very rich, so I picked the first option 🙂

Sorry Gramps, I've been working my fingers to the bone on this painting and floor fixing and had not even opened my e-mail today. That is great, but it is missing the white bread on the side. 🙂 And I doubt seriously those are Hebrews!

What does a "Redneck Seafood Dinner" consist of?

This frightens me.
