~ is a tilde. Much more common in Spanish, it indicates that the letter it is above is pronounced differently than usual.

^ is a caret. In proofreading it means "insert words here", that is, something has been left out of the text. In math it is the sign for exponent: 3^2, is three raised to the second power (squared) or nine.

Nope, unless breathing paint fumes for ten hours is interesting.....and it's not!

Got a crown put on my tooth (now I'm royalty), watched a funeral on TV, talked to my nephew on the phone, worked on a project for my niece's birthday ... none of that would be considered interesting to most people!

Cabin fever from working on this room for the past five days drove us to Olive Garden. Wife went lite with soup and salad, but I don't have her willpower: Chicken Marsala, chicken breast stuffed with cheese and spinach and so many breadsticks that two waiters had to walk me to the car. Now that I'm home, a couple of Foster's oil cans chilled almost to freezing and I'll be able to face more home improvements tomorrow.

When do you expect your home renovation project will be completed?

🙂

P.S. Will there be a guest room available by Autumn?

You guys took sustained hits for a long awhile. Glad there's sunshine.

Caught some of the early play of the Netherlands vs. France soccer match today on ESPN. National anthems always make me weak in the

knees. Absolutely appreciate most all of them, especially the French and Canadian. Bagpipe parades bring water to the corner of me eye.

Today was pretty good for me, a pretty boring Friday the 13th, though. Woke up, ate, read, napped, read, ate, and am now doing this. Anybody have a particularly unlucky day? Hopefully not.

Nasruddin was found by his neighbor looking in the street for something.
"What are you looking for," asked the neighbor.
"I'm looking for my key," said Nasrudin.
"Where did you lose it?"
"In my basement."
"Then why are you looking for it here?"
"The light is better here."
