Of course, you better trust the Bavarians implicitly; if you send in your troops and he doesn't send in his, you might get slaughtered. Same goes for him. Same goes for if and when you plan to attack Venice.
LOL! Seriously though, think what a good deal it would be for you if you suddenly got command of Poland in this game from a waiting list. They haven't moved or built since Turn 3, so they must have a huge reserve of gold. They already have a decent sized army. Plus the border provinces of their neighbors are virtually undefended! They could just about walk into Ratisbon. What a sweet setup!
